I would be ok with Trouba if the Rangers retain 2 or more mil per. I don't like his dirty hits but i do like that he is physically nasty and not afraid to answer the bell and scrap. Wings do need someone like that behind Seider to play with Edvinsson.

I don't think the Rangers want anything to do with Holl but i think this might be where the Sharks future considerations come in and they take Holl if the Wings make the trade for Trouba or some other defenseman. This would at least make the Walman trade make a bit more sense.

I mean, having Kane would/will be nice....simply amazing offensive talent. Loss of Walman AND a 2d sucks. Potentially being in on Stammer's sweet. My only concern is shoring up the back end (not sure how Johansson'll transition to the NHL...Eddy's gonna be solid). I worry that we'll go into next season trying to out-score a lackluster D.....and that won't work vs TOR, FLA, BOS, etc...

For a big part of last season the Wings were top 5 in goals scored and they finished in the top 10. They are likely going to lose Kane, Perron, Ghost and Sprong for offense and their defense so far isn't any better. Unless Yzerman makes big improvements to the defense, they are likely going to be worst than last season with the offense they lose. Replacing the offense they lose won't make them better unless the defense is improved and Petry never sees top 4 minutes for the rest of his career as a Wings.

Yay, they took the safe player who will be a solid NHL player and probably pull down a solid 40 pts a year for many years to come. Yippee, how exciting. Don’t worry about overlooking the player with more goals & points over the last two years than any other player, and there is no close second, and they overlooked a potential star who had a few stupid social media posts. I can’t contain my excitement over getting another safe Scandinavian player. In five years of drafting over 35 players, they’ve produced a whopping 2 NHL players so far because they draft the safe, boring players who take 5 years to develop.
