The moves suggest the Flyers want to build with next years draft, but time will tell if they contradict themselves by re-signing TK and trading for more depth.

This team can’t recognize elite amateur talent. They have failed consistently for nearly two decades now. Claude Giroux was drafted in 2006. They have failed miserably since then regardless of the GM. Until they fire the scouts nothing will change because they will be receiving the same bad analysis. I had hope things were different after Michkov but he’s appears to be an anomaly. It’s just a steady stream of “two way” try hards.

Actually the trade was good with Edmonton....even if they win the cup next year that #32 will be in a deeper draft, now they have a chance to get an even better pick if Edmonton has a slump...maybe they get #18 next year.

If they would of taken Buium and made the trade I would of given them an A rating, instead they get a C-

The last trade can’t possibly cause you to gripe. It’s extremely likely the pick will be below 32.

Can’t even complain about getting a third for one spot.

What you can complain about is the talent evaluation and reaching to draft for a position of need instead of best player available. That decision very well might haunt them.

Very true. I must write re signing TK makes even less sense now. If Jett is the right pick (not a given), the earliest he will be in the NHL is 2 years from now. Probably closer to 3 yrs- he still is not 18. 3 1sts - sure does not suggest a quick retool. Very mixed signals right now.

Nah, he’s not a two way player. They just drafted another Scott Laughton 13th overall. Literally, 2 way player, great leader, will bring good culture. I really had hope that Briere would be different. So either many of you are right and Torts is pulling all of the strings or DB is an idiot.
