I'm not sure if it's been pointed out about Conroy's "Dallas model" - Dallas wasn't just 'drafting well', their 1st rotated between defense to center year to year, until their picks starting hitting, and as the broadcasters were saying, seasoning players in the AHL for a year. So it's interesting how we chose a C/LW last year, and now defense this year with our top picks.

If we tank next season, that could work out very nicely for us at center, but we'll see if we land Debrusk and Dumba July 1st

Gonna be tough organization looks to be in full tear-down mode for now. Mango-Pie now gone too could be a lottery team for 5 seasons. Some poor decisions being made the goal should have been to get the Flames in the PO's the first year of the new rink. But they can't even get that done lol

We’ve got a 19 year old right shot D that recorded 93 points to go along with our newest right shot D, 18 year old that got 96 points this year.

We’ve got a 19 year old right shot D that recorded 93 points to go along with our newest right shot D, 18 year old that got 96 points this year.
Flames rocked the 2nd day of the draft.

Totally agree probably some misdirected frustration with Utah taking Tiggy.

What everyone should have been a little choked about was why in the world wasnt Conroy all over Sergachev. 26 years old 7 more years on a 8.5 mill, which we could easily afford & we could have easily matched what Utah gave them. We could have given them Honzek who would be as potential as Geekie (11th overall) & Pelts >>> than Moser, we could have flicked them the Colorado 2025 2nd & given them our 2024 4th. That would have been huge from a retool point of view. Also would have allowed us to get maybe a 2025 1st for Andersen at the TDL. Damn WTF. That is the point of having 30 freaking million in cap space.

That offer isn't anywhere close to what the Utahs gave up. Honzek had an awful year last year and is a winger. Geekie had a great year and is a centre. Moser was adequate in a top four role last year. Pelletier was hurt, couldn't stick with a bad team, and was pretty underwhelming in the AHL. Geekie and Moser are both players who should be NHLers next season. Who knows if Honzek and Pelletier ever stick?

If Tampa wanted a young centre prospect, the Flames had nothing to offer.

I have to agree, once all the whining stopped, Conroy made picks with a purpose. Those late round Calgary kid picks were awesome as well. Got some sandpaper/goal scorers in the middle. All in all a well deserved A+ rating.
