Love the pick, didnāt think heād fall that far but man is it disconcerting that Bellows and Wahlstrom were both drafted from the NTDP, billed as high-end goal scorers, and committed to BU
This does feel a lot different given the a NTDP records he set, out-scoring Caufield, Kessel, Kane, Matthews, and whoever else. Hereās to hoping i donāt eat these words 5-6 years from now. If he can score 40 regularly I donāt give a poop how bad his defense is |

Im not going to make pretend I know this kid or any of these draft picks other then what Iāve read recently. Havenāt been paying attention but one of my buddies reached out to me last night to tell me he played on a line with Hagens in NTDP and he was a scoring machine. Heās going to BU which should help with his development. From where Iām sitting not sure what anyone could find fault with this kid as the 20th pick? Thereās some knocks with his defensive game but as we know thatās something that can be taught and will be at the NCAA level.
Is this a push to maybe forgo this year and make a push for number 1 to have a shot at Hagens? Doubt it but Iām super happy that Lou hung onto the pick rather then trade it. Yesterdays outcome was the best case scenario as far as Iām concerned. Wish we started this a couple of years ago but canāt change that now. Iām saying this now and watch Lou trade all of our picks today. š |

Yep, full marks to the Isles and Lou for the pick. Eiserman was the right choice and fantastic value at 20. I didnāt think heād fall that far and Iām glad he did. They took a player with a huge ceiling and werent getting anyone at 20 that was a surefire star. He could have a monster season on a stacked BU team. |

Interested to see what Lou does today. Does he continue to build the prospect pool or revert to the norm. |

Wonder if we get impact trades around the NHL now that the 1st round is done. I'd rather the Islanders continue building the prospect pool. Just do not see how the Islanders can improve the current team in a significant way.

If Lou uses those 2 2nd rounders or trades them for that kid from Winnipeg it probably means we are seeing the same team as last year. Not saying it's a bad thing, actually drafting, just saying those are really his only trade pieces. |

Iām not sure the Islanders have enough to deal with a lot of teams reported to have interest. |

That particular trade they do if the reported ask is correct. |

Iāll be happy if it gets done. Iām not sure how if this is not considered a strong draft. We will find out soon. |

If rumors are true, why the heck with the Wings want Trouba? |

I still think the Rangers are trying to clear space to get stamkos if he hits July 1 |

I understand why the Rangers want to move Trouba. Why would the Wings want him?
So far, the NHL continues with the non-exciting offseasons. |

No trades for Lou. Best day Lou has had in my eyes for quite some time. Cautiously optimistic. |

From Andrew Gross on Twitter:
#IslesĀ Lou Lamoriello says still not determined whether he will re-sign any of his UFAs before market opens on Monday. But it sounds like both Cal Clutterbuck and Matt Martin will hit free agency. There have been discussions between their camps and Lou.
Iām hoping Martin and Cal find new homes. |

From Rosner:
#IslesĀ GM Lou Lamoriello says that Oliver Wahlstrom will receive a qualifying offer and that if he's moved, it won't be for free.
Could give him a fresh start.
Said he's been working really hard this summer.
Also from Gross: Houda is moving on. And no contract extension talks with either Nelson or Palmieri. |

#IslesĀ Lou Lamoriello says it is not a priority at this time to re-sign those eligible for contract extensions on July 1, including Brock Nelson and Kyle Palmieri.

Both great for the organization but yeah itās time to turn the page. I wish them the best. I donāt want to get to ahead of myself but itās feeling like Iām getting what I wanted for the last almost three years, finally. |
