I appreciate the write up, Bill. I think what you wrote is fair. I didn’t hate everything they did. In a vacuum the trades made sense.

What doesn’t make sense is the talent evaluation. I just can’t fathom being in a rebuild and not taking the top-10 talent, potential number 1 defenseman. And then to actually admit the reasoning is because they have some smaller defensemen in the system? They also have Sanheim, Risto, and Seeler who are bigger, with Seeler and Risto being physical. And who says you can’t move one of those other pieces for more picks or players?

They took a center because the organization doesn’t have many. And it stinks. It was an idiotic decision for a rebuilding team. If they took Buium and he didn’t work out everyone would say, “well it didn’t work out.” But if this kid doesn’t work out, people will be fired.
