2 days ago there was hope for a small piece of something...

Now I seriously look at the team and see absolutely no change for the team and it's future.

Is Briere really going to come out to a press conference all smiles and tell everyone how excited he is?

2025 draft looks hopeful, but that's a year away.

- Glak18

That’s exactly what he’s gonna do. This draft means nothing that what they want…

They know mm is gonna be golden ticket next season and the taint lickers like jd50 will be sucked right in. They operate on a year to year marketing campaign.

there just seems to be a lot of short sighted opinions on players most of you have never even watched. and to top it off the whole "that's it! this time I swear I'm done with this team!" rhetoric is just sad. we want them to be patient one day and the next screaming at the sky that they didn't pick a player they just heard of a few days ago. most of you don't even know what you want.

because a mock draft had him going higher? well a handful of teams also let him slip a bunch of spots.

The problem you can't seem to comprehend is the fact patience and bad decisions contradict each other. You don't have to wait and see if a bad decision is made, it was made. End of story.

Are you talking about patience with Jett Luchanko? What is there to be patient about? His development cycle is going to be 2 years in the CHL and at least another 2 years in the AHL. Best case he's on the Flyers in 4 years so he can start his NHL development, which hopefully he progresses to meet his ceiling in 2 years to become a good 3C and penalty killer.

Oh wait maybe you were going to say "You don't know if that's his ceiling. He could be better!". No he won't, star players don't take 6 years to become stars in the NHL and the ones that do are absolute rare unheard of cases.

So if the Flyer suck so bad next year to put themselves in a good drafting spot next year then it's easy to be patient. The problem is the fans who have actually followed the team for DECADES don't see the logical steps necessary to get better they will experience the same they have for a long time of mediocrity. The draft is not exciting next year if the Flyers are a bubble team. The end.

Yes that’s a fair point. I don’t react that way tho. Personally I do watch minor hockey. Admittedly didn’t watch tons last season or really season before. But there usually is pretty close idea on players somewhat ranked top 20-30 players. Yes not 100% but in instance of a reach (see sennecke/see Jett) it’s pretty safe to say for example ducks were morons to take sennecke at 3. Not because of the puck or players in itself but it was clear they could’ve traded back. And added assets. Same for flyers.

Leaving a player (Zeev) on board who most people say has potential to have high end talent that no one had projected to be at 12 and the very thing you claim to need (high end talent) and the moronic excuse db gave for passing on him coupled with a reach makes for almost certainly a mistake.

We see it over and over. Yes not only flyers do this but lately Philly does not make the correct move. It really is amazing. Its status quo.

It’s about the Flyers process that is the issue.

If only there was an ignore feature for Comcast to use on the alumni that have turned the professional aspects of this franchise into a zero accountability country club.

100% agree...the process.

All these nut jobs talking about patience. EVERY single year we have the same conversations after the draft. The same conversation with Rubstov, O'Brien, Frost and on and on.

"Let's just wait and see how it pans out first before we rush to judgement!"

Judgement can be made based on history and track record.

The last 20 years....who the (frank) has panned out? GO!

It's tough to get excited about someone whose scouting report is "Agonizingly unremarkable, across the board". He was born to be a Flyer.

I have to convince myself that they passed on Zeev because he has the same agent as he who shall not be named, lest I end up in an insane asylum. I'm rooting for Jett and hope he turns out to be a stud 1C. Now, the brain cells in my head that still work tell me that's likely a pipe dream, but I just can't bring myself to stop bleeding orange & black. My dad was a STH for Stanley Cup years and they're really the only team I've ever known. That being said, when you've been a fan for (gulp) 5 decades and you've seen some dumb crap time and time again, it's really hard to give the team the benefit of the doubt when they're talking out of both sides of their mouths again. I told my friend before the draft that this was one they couldn't possibly screw up unless they went off the board or traded down. They did BOTH. Very frustrating, but what's done is done. We'll be po'd until the MM press conference. Then we'll be more po'd when they sign TK to his mega extension. Then we'll be thrilled when MM scores his first goal. And so on. Hamsters on a wheel...

I think it's funny Hayes got traded AGAIN to your rivals before the flyers got rid of any other dead contract.

I also recall some people thinking Atkinson could be traded. Kudos to those that called it on him being done.

It's a pretty underwhelming draft class overall.

Drafting a Cogliano at 13OA instead of Buium is full on demoralizing -- made even worse by the GM's admitted rationale. I know people are like "but he's young!" and "trust the scouts!" but when's the last time this group of scouts found much of anything that wasn't already obvious to everybody else? We're not talking about a group that has a recent history of unearthing undervalued gems.

Powell in the 5th was their most exciting pick.

Cue Clarke saying Zeev was the scouts pick and Danny didn’t listen in 3 years 😂
