You've had your time.
Quit your f'n whining

Lol

I saw the writing on the wall after the loss to the Avs in the final. Tampa is in the Pittsburgh decline to irrelevance. Maybe Briesbois can change that by jettisoning bionic geezer Stamkos and overpriced Sergachev.

Honestly, Vasi is their last hope. Without him in elite form, it won't matter what they do with Stamkos or who they replace him with.

I'm already ride or die with the Leafs who have Cup dreams yet realized. Tampa's cup days are done.

Leafs looking at 5 years for Tanev.
Hopefully under 5.

- Fakepartofme

I look at it this way ...Gio, at the same age as Tanev, had 4 yrs left at 6.75 and then did two cheapies with the Leafs.

Maybe they say to Tanev .....give us 4 at 5ish and then we tack on 2 yrs at $1M. Leafs keep the AAV closer to $4M that way and maybe *wink wink Tanev hangs things up early. Him being 34 rather than 35 helps do some shady planning.

And they can tweak the numbers so it declines within the amount allowed in rules.

That, and I know you're throwing a rough example around, would end up being around $3.67m on the cap. Now ever since the actual backdiving rules came in, no two years can be more than 35% apart, and the minimum and maximum values of the AAV must be within 50%. So you could go 5, 5, 4, 3.75, 2.5, 2.5 for instance - and that would land you around $3.75m over 6. But the more they player wants in the up front years, the more limited you are in being able to reduce the overall cap hit in the later years.

Unless he doesn’t actually want to play a full 6 years. Could the negotiation start with Treliving asking how long he wants to play and how much does he want to earn in that time? He’s earned $40.5M in his 13 years. If he’s looking for another $18 or so over 4 years of playing, maybe a 6 year deal like you’ve laid out works.

I don't think you're getting him for less than 4-4.25M AAV.

Accidentally flagged this post. I guess a Freudian slip?

Just bought myself a John Deere Z330 Zero Turn rider. I need to hook up an attachment where I can rest my string trimmer and a holster for my chainsaw.

I already did that to the birch in my front yard. Before I bought the saw.

I’m quite adept swinging an axe. Spent many years in the bush, and I was in the lumberjack games while taking forestry in college..

Tampa Bay has earned the benefit of the doubt because of their previous success but moving a younger D to accommodate a player who is probably past his prime is an odd decision. Vasilevskiy is already expected to stand on his head, making that blueline thinner doesn't seem like a good idea.

But like you said, if they use that cap space to accommodate the defensive game, maybe it'll pay off. If they spend it all on Stamkos, I don't know if that's going to work out long term.

- Rare_Jewel

If they unloaded Sergachev to be able to keep Stamkos that is a horrible decision.

Vladdy Jays best player by a mile right now. Funny how many in here were ready to give up on him in April.

He starting playing better as soon as he realized it would get him traded out of this craphole.

Nice! When I was I young I really considered forestry. Just to learn the skills, not really to work in the field. Excellent skills to have.
