I’ve been watching these drafts every year and it’s always the same thing. “ We couldn’t believe he was still available”. We were rubbing our eyes to make sure we weren’t seeing things.

Well Verbeek got the D he wanted and was worried wouldn't be there at the end of the 1st... now does the kid pan out... who knows. But when you can trade and get the player you want... that is great for the club.

As for the pick sure Tre and Berube and Wes can say Danford was their guy all along ... however that doesn't seem to jive with what most believed. They seem to have been caught off guard and settled for a possible top 4 but more likely /5/6 dman when at 23 they could have taken a for sure top 4 guy.

Stop pretending you know anything about these prospects.

The worst kind of fans are the ones that get angry and excited about picks. The scouting staff that is paid to put countless hours into watching live games, even more watching tape over and over again and getting to know these prospects on a personal level know something. We do not.

At 23 you have to be lucky to get a player who ever plays a game in the NHL. I don’t know where you’re getting a for sure top 4 guy.
