They don't have many chips left. If that's all they could do with Savoie, Rosen isn't worth moving. If Kulich is the unmovable guy, then you're just left with Ostlund. Maybe Johnson, but Joker is on a 1 year and their D pipeline is weak. Trading future picks is the unsustainable approach KA's been preaching against since he's been here. Certainly possibly everything he's said for years vanished in the wind.

As far as Savoie... By far their most talented offensive prospect. I think this kid could develop into a Brayden Point type player.

This is scary to watch as a Sabre fan. They've had a paradigm shift in philosophy from accumulate highly talented prospects with a run them out of your building type of game to trap/grind em out kind of wins.

Either way... Edmonton absolutely fleeced a GM who is clearly in over his head.

This is what everyone wanted. It was the price of doing business for what the Sabres needed. Last time I checked, no one around the league has traded any top 6 forwards (Mangiapane and his 14 goals? Nice try). If this is the price to get a good 3C, what are the prices to get a top 6 F??? Greenway+Krebs+ isn't going to get you Ehlers. If is does, KA should get GM of the year.

They traded for a legitimate NHL player with legitimate NHL attributes. You gave up what? A question mark? A maybe? A prospect? A suspect (as Ted Nolan used to call them)? Someone who might? Well he might be this, he might be that. Who cares?

One piece at a time (and I ripped him pretty good after day 1) he is doing exactly what everyone said this team needed.

Well we have McLeod now, so flip him for Michkov instead. He's a 50pt 3C that skates like McDavid and was a filthy playmaker in juniors.

Not feeling very good about Krebs or Rosen's value. I think there's still room for Krebs at 4C and they kind of need that depth.

C'mon dude. It doesn't mean any of that and you know it. Every prospect in the league is just that, a prospect, until proven otherwise.

That's the prospect they were pushing and they got a deal done for what looks like a good, young, legit 3C.
