Wasn't their 5th rounder from 2022 just named QMJHL defenseman of the year? |

Savoie is about that on a good team like the Oilers. McLeod is a middle of the road 4C to me. Dime a dozen player. - RhinoFan
24 year Olds putting up those d metrics aren't a dime a dozen he's playing behind Mcdavid, Drais and Nugent Hopkins. |

C'mon dude. It doesn't mean any of that and you know it. Every prospect in the league is just that, a prospect, until proven otherwise.
That's the prospect they were pushing and they got a deal done for what looks like a good, young, legit 3C. - Powerslave
why pick 9 overall then?
you would have received a better player at that draft moving the pick vs 2 years later IMO

You already know the answer to this, but you're just being difficult. First off, 2 years ago they were restocking the pipeline, which by many accounts, they have. Second, You have to supplement your roster with entry level/cheap contracts. |

he is not going to be a cheap contract when adams overpays him in 12 months and we are paying skinner over 6 mil in year 3 |

Is spending your Saturday making all of these homemade memes making you feel better? Your advanced stats need work, though. Averaging about a meme every 8 minutes isn't going to cut it. Others on here can pump them out every 45 seconds. |

Maybes, ifs, buts. Who. Cares.
Skinner literally had the worst defensive metrics in the game. Literally THE worst. Even if Zucker scores 15-18 goals (which he likely will if he's playing top 6 minutes), they come out ahead.
We all wanted him to ice a (frank)ing NHL roster. And now we're all complaining about it. Pick a lane. |

The only hill not worth dying on is the one centered around the Sabres doing anything positive this offseason. We're shipped off big pieces of the team and futures and yet somehow got worse.
Who is scoring goals here guys? I'll tell ya for free it won't be anyone in our bottom 6. - RhinoFan

I don’t understand the hate for trading away a prospect like savoie…. The entire NHL has a much lower perceived value for savoie than this board does.
The fact of the matter is that KA drafted 4 of the same player and hoped one hit. That one hit last year in benson and we don’t need any more of that type of player right now.
KA dealt from a glutton of prospects for a key piece in a position of need.
I for one will have much more fun watching McLeod fly up and down the ice and going to the net and playing in the corners than watching okposo turn around at the half boards, girgs falling down, and skinner skating backwards up the center of the ice with the speed of the Zamboni |

Out: Jeff Skinner, Matt Savoie, 2nd round pick, Zemgus 😂, Olofsson 😂, Jost 😂. Maybe he's referring to Joe Cecconi? |

Imo, a top 4 RD will wait until next year. Joker is a stop-gap, and he's fine. He had a good year last year, and going into UFA status, I bet they're banking on an even better year from him.
I agree on the top 6 F, and maybe he will. |
