if he moved greenway, krebs, joker in trades and got a top 6 winger and middle pair Rd guy
it would be ok
I doubt he makes a trade for either spots - homiedclown
I agree. I think he does it. But I'm not holding my breath either. If he came out yesterday and said "ahh you know my team is incomplete, I need to make that trade", it's a signal to the top 6 and fans saying they're not good enough, it's a signal to the other GMs that see chum in the water.
His presser last night was weak and gross but I can understand why he said the things he said in the way that he said them. |

So then your 3rd line should look like
Zucker - insert 3C - Kulich / savoie / Rosen? - Sabretooth9
peterka-tage-tuch
zucker-cozens-quinn
benson-savoie-rosen/kulich
that would be my top 9 with what we have
wont happen |

jordan greenway's departing ass says hello - TheSabresTaco
Not sure what his return would be. But that would be some nice cap relief.
Move 2.5 mill (just guessing) and girgensons not accepting his 2.5 a year
We have more cap space.
Also moving Clifton is an option |

That is way too much trust in a 3rd line that has little to no nhl experience |

I would say that’s an overpay. By a decent amount.
The caps need to dump salary and not bring any on - Sabretooth9
The Caps don't need to dump any salary.
Backstrom and Oshie are both going to be on LTIR for the entire season. |

It is obvious how you really feel as all of your posts attempting to be positive are littered with maybes that would need to happen for the team to actually be good. - kingcong39
Fair enough, but when we had Eichel, Reinhart, etc and landed Hall, didn't we all cream our jeans because we were guaranteed to be awesome? Before that, when we had Eich, Rino, traded the farm for all these awesome established players, it was a guarantee we'd be good, right? Those approaches did not work. My point is, everything is a maybe.
Consider Adams comment yesterday about guys not wanting to be in Buffalo and he doesn't give a second thought. That's a supremely dumb thing to say, but I see it as a public way to send a message that Buffalo will no longer be a place where good FA players can get overpaid and not have to play hard, which definitely seems to be the perception (and has been discussed here many times).
You know, maybe last year if our power play was not a disaster we get in the playoffs...well I believe an actual NHL coach should help that. The year before, we scored a lot of goals, but maybe if our TEAM defense was better we woulda got in....well I believe adding a good fast defensive 4th line, finally, will help that (plus our very young D is now a year older).
Maybe is a part of sports. We were extremely young last year and the year before so we have more maybes than other teams, but what I keep telling myself is KA said he wants to build mainly by drafting and developing which is a new approach and, unfortunately, takes a lot of time. But ever since tanking for Eichel we have tried the other approaches, and failed miserably...I have the patience to give this approach a chance.
I'll repeat one thing: we now have a real NHL coach, which we have not had since the last time Lindy left Buffalo. I'm not the biggest Lindy fan in the world but God, he's guaranteed to be better than the garbage coaches we've had the last decade-plus, right? |

Oof. I like him better than anyone but Zucker. - QuinnFan
He's slow (-), he doesn't score (-), he doesn't hit enough (-) and he's good on the PK (+).
Why are we spending 3M on him? Send him out, retain, fill his spot on the roster with Nic Ehlers.
Send Joker to Edmonton for Ryan McLeod or something

If you are trading for a top 6 forward. Getting rid of dead cap weight would be smart.
Ehlers for example has 1 year of 6 mill left. You move out greenway and save 3 mill.
If we do trade for a top 6 guy. Benson slides down to the 3rd line
Zucker - 3C - benson. Something like that |

We drafted these guys for a reason. I get what you are saying, but someone needs to step up and lead this team, and it cant always be a vet. Every guy on this team has been a C in their life because of how good they are. Toews was a very early in his career named Captain. The guys on the ice need to hold each other accountable - and that is not happening.

NAK is a significantly more useful player than Greenway.
He may play 3RW just so they can roll out a PK of NAK Lafferty Greenway and Dahlin

if this happens there is room for none of the kids up front aside from benson |

While I think you are correct. It’s day 2 of free agency.

Savoie oslund and Kulich in roch isn’t a bad thing
Clearly the Sabres have issues with Kulich already. I wonder what the problem is. He should’ve played more than 1 nhl game |

I believe the idea behind Skinner is to not only have a more useful player there right now, but to also replace his production by his expensive year 3 with a Savoie and Kulich.
26-27
Peterka-Thompson-Quinn
Ehlers-Cozens-Benson
Kulich-Helenius-Savoie

Tuch will be 30. Too far out to think about, maybe a 3 year 15M deal, not sure where he fits though. By then you know what you have in guys like Rosen, Savoie, Kulich etc |
