McCann is interesting

if he traded for ehlers and signed matt roy, it would have been a good offseason

he did not address the issue at RD and he bought out a guy that scored 93 goals and instead of getting a better 5 on 5 guy he grabbed a 3rd line winger for a year that will probably be playing up on the 2nd line

That's essentially how I feel too. Slotting guys where they belong:

Tuch Thomspon Peterka
Quinn [Center] Benson
Greenway Cozens Zucker
Aube-Kubel Melanstyns Lafferty

They really need second line help. That's with Benson slotted on the second line, a spot he really hasn't earned yet.

The kid is a really nice player... why would they let him leave?

I had an epic rant this morning at 3am. I "like" all the moves, too, IF:

1) They had gotten a legit tip 6 winger

2) They had gotten a legit 3C

3) They had dumped/traded 3 of their 9 bottom six forwards

4) Adams hadn't blatantly LIED about making this team better

Agreed, this team has some awesome pieces, but the overvaluing of players will cause most of them to play out of position and be failures. Literally one or two players would make a massive difference.

Imagine a team with a 2nd line of Tuch Cozens Zucker. That line could hammer people and pot 70 goals. Then imagine a 4th line with Greenway Malenstyns Lafferty. Big, physical, score the odd goal.

That means the first line is Quinn Thompson Peterka. Okay, Quinn is injury prone, and that is not an elite or even above average first line, but it could work.

Then you get to the third line. And I have left Benson, Krebs, and...nothing. Kulich I guess. Aube-Kubel is left over too, though he should be the 13th forward.

If they just had a legitimate 3C and another middle six forward, this team would be fine.

Edit: I see what you are saying now, but why not just sign him to a 2-way contract for 1M guaranteed. Seems like it would accomplish the same thing.
