Devils improved. Dallas is about the same. Rangers are about the same. Avs didn't change much either. Bruins might have slightly improved despite losing Ulmark. Preds improved a lot. Oilers are about the same. - dcz28
Respectfully,
Bruins added, but lost debrusk...wash...
Rangers - a mess with Trouba - lost Goodrow and did it in a bad way. No net gains
Dallas - lost pavelski and Tanev....backward move.
Preds better on paper for sure. |

Thank you so much for the kind words as well. Edmonton is a team that I’d heard is a little concerned about juggling numbers on the extensions. As for Leafs, I do think their D did improve, I think some of the reports are overselling what they did in net. At least one panelist on TSN was looking at Tavares expiration next year as an opportunity to do a solid upgrade. They seemed split on keeping Marner but he controls his destiny. - Jeremy Laura
Agree...in the end, the league got what it wants...more parity. Florida..big steps backward. I will argue OEL buyout deal last year as their most crucial guy. |

Biggest issue for Boston was center and they added Lindholm. Debrusk isn't much of a loss to them.
Don't think the Rangers care about Trouba since he will be an 8 mil 3rd pair guy for them and Goodrow is an overpaid 4th liner. They didn't add but they lost nothing either.
Pavelski wasn't doing much last season which is why he retired and Tanev was a deadline addition not with the team for the season.
Devils finally improved their goaltending and even their defense without losing anything. They should be a playoff lock unless injuries derails them. |

I’m impressed by the Reinhart$, the TSN panel debated that the tax situation made that easier for a player who could have had a higher AAV on the market. Still, raises mean changes. It will be interesting to see how much the dynamic changes with decisions having to be made. |

This is one I saw a few readers wanting to see done. Market must not have been what he’d hoped |

Looks like Ghost to Carolina. 3 yr around 10m - Jeremy Laura
So pissed! Wish we would have signed him. Yzerman probably wouldn’t give him term, so he elected for a different D man. |

I see an issue with Kane hitting those "make playoffs" bonuses.. |

I wonder if those bonuses are specific to the Wings or if they trade him at the deadline he can still get those bonuses with another team. |

Love the lightning and Stamkos. Anyone 34 or 35 is clearly on downswing. The lighting wanted to fit him in with term. Nobody can match 8 mill for next 4. Crazy and I love the guy. If lighting did that, it would have been more of the same for them They would be a guy or 2 from making a little run. 8 for 4 years is like 4 for 8 years. The lighting were offering 3 for 8. Probably could have got to 3.5 for 8 and he would have forsaken 4mill for legacy.
But he clearly does not see it that way and I respect what he has decided. I believe he will regret it...but we will see. |

I’m not sure how it went down. Ghost may have seen Carolina as a good opportunity for a run, 3.2 per year for 3 years. |

I’m marinating on the loss of ghost. Maybe yzerman’s rationale is ASP will be there in 2-3 years, so it’s better to sign EG for 2 years, on the cheap, and evaluate ASP and the stable. I loved ghost on the PP…. Sad to see him go. |

Definitely sad to see him go, but I don’t know that it was on Yzerman. Ghost may have wanted to go elsewhere. I agree it’s a loss I just don’t know that the Dman didn’t want to try a new team. |

I hear you. Lived in Tampa from 2008-2019. Stamkos is great and while idk if JBB actually improved the team he made a tough decision that he thinks helps them moving forward. He’s not catering to what the fans want. My favorite thing will always be the fans crying about Conacher getting traded for Bishop. |

i say Kane does end up with NYR at the deadline when this team is out of playoff contention as usual. |

The team said he was gone. I reprinted it so it’s on me. One point out of the playoffs, does having Kane back in the fray make the needed difference with the loss of Ghost/Perron and what will this all look like. I’m honestly chewing on this and I don’t think I’m going to sleep tonight. The prospect’s camp should have some video I’ll be posting this week. |

How is this "on you"?, when we all thought that?
They way he sounded, he wanted term and stuff.
We are all as surprised as you are he came back.

I was sure of it and doubled down in a chat. I just feel bad for digging in. I know it sounds nuts. There was plenty of speculation but in the end I put up the “Kane isn’t coming back” post and it turned out wrong. I may also be burned out from way too much TSN consumption today. It was a crazy July 1 |

I’m surprised Kane came back without a 2c being acquired to support that line. |
