How did this guy drop out if the top 10 picks? It seems like picking Jett was a reach but there are several stories he was climbing the charts.
I was disappointed too but we will not really know until 3-4 years now.
Nolan Patrick was the consensus # 2 pick and that did play out too well.
The Flyers obviously like the 2025 draft better so we will have to be patient.
How about that a rebuilding team taking time to rebuild. Maybe they are doing it the right way!

I guess on the bright the side Luchankos skating is supposed to be really good, edge work etc. They passed on a D that can skate, at least they didn't go after a guy who needs work on skating or will be a bust.

You know what I was thinking of, if you are Minnesota, why trade up 1 pick and give up a 3rd if Buium was the player they wanted all along? They had to know the Flyers were not targeting Buium if all they were willing to do is take a 3rd round pick for him. And if you are the Flyers, did you do enough to convince teams behind you that Buium was your guy? Seems to me the Flyers could have got much more from trading down. I thought the whole trade between the Flyers and Wild didn't make sense.

If TK signs for 8 years $64M, I would be fine with that, wouldn't you? TK clearly is not the scorer Guentel or Reinhart are, to me the market has been set for what TK is worth. If TK wants to hold off until next off season, the Flyers will trade him at the deadline and everyone will be happy.

That would be a perfect scenario, Flyers should be battling with Calgary and Chicago at the end of the year.

The Flyers are doing fine in some aspects but of course missing the boat bigly in their main goal, which is: acquire elite talent.

It is really dead simple. Jettison veteran talent that doesn't fit the timeline. TK is a dead easy decision to make. Move him for fair value.

Laughton another dead easy decision to make. Move him for best offer.

These two decisions alone will ensure a worse finish next year, increasing probability of a much better draft pick.

And look at all the draft capital they have next year! They need to finish worse. But they won't. They never do. They are always straddlers because they lack gumption. The entire management needs therapy for their fixation on all of the other things besides winning.

Kinda unrelated but I don't know who I hate more: Daryll Morey or Chuck Fletcher.

A little insight into the potential insane center depth in the '25 draft.

I've seen a lot of teams improve quite a bit in this short off-season so far. The only improvement I've seen from the Flyers is trading that 32nd pick for a 2025 pick. Do Something!!! This isn't one of those "sometimes the best move is no move" scenarios. Do we seriously think we're going to be able to compete with the NYR, NJD and even the CBJ? We clearly need to rebuild. These teams will be using the Flyers players to Zamboni the ice for the next 5-10 years.

I feel like once they drafted Michkov the plan went from rebuild to re-tool. You could almost see it on their faces at the 2023 draft and by their actions afterwards. This Franchise is in shambles. But nothing that can't be corrected with some prudent moves and team building from a quality GM. Is Briere that GM?

If your franchise is going into a massive rebuild, why do you hire an inexperienced GM an inexperienced President and a Coach that is rough on prospects and squeezes a few more wins out of a roster, hurting your draft capital???
