I hate the bottom 3 or 4, they not sure they will be any better than what was here.
Not as excited about KD as I was 4 days ago. - vabeachbear
We're still not there, obviously. The multiyear signings have cheap buyouts, I just checked, God forbid. This team is still not in a position where they can pursue top tier FA's. And there's a good chance that none of the expiring UFA deals will be here in the 2025-26 season. Six of them, I counted. We'll see which of them gets moved at the deadline for that glorious third rounder, as was suggested earlier on here. |

Where are all these guys going to play? Didn’t realize the rebuild meant bringing in a bunch of damn near 40 year olds to take ice time away from kids like Reichel, Nazar, and del Mastro. |

Kind of.
Didn't like Leshunov over Demidov, on the FA think the Bertuzzi and TT are good signings, but the other guys are just meh.
Guess they are 1 yr deals but it just seems like you just signed 3 Corey Perrys to play on the 4th line.
Totally the opposite of how you want to play (fast).
I should add, I thought he could do no wrong prior to 4 days ago
- vabeachbear
I wanted Demidov too but I wanted Kessel back in 2006 so..
I kind of like that roster looks like NHL roster now. They aren´t going to playoffs but they should be better. It´s not easy when you have a lot of new faces but I have all eyes on Luke Richardson.

The Hawks have their back up - Broissoit (sp?) 2 years @ $3.3 Million AAV. - DarthKane
Soderblom simply wasn't an NHL goalie last year. Mid season he forced Mrazek to play more games. He was lucky he stayed healthy. |

I'm sure there is a chance, but I don't think we should expect it. He is 18 years old, so it might be a little time before he is NHL ready. - breadbag
Both sides know the soon to be revealled plan on his future.
He didn't really enjoy college part of his hockeyfun last year.

Only five D's on the roster now. I expect Slaggert and Nazar will start the season in Rockford, barring a great camp, and there's a good chance Anderson (they just signed him again) begins there, too. And there are always injuries which result in callups. It's also possible KD has another trade or two to make. |

That's too bad, but then again i wonder if they wanted a vet presence to pair with our rookie RD? |

WSH is currently almost $4M over the cap (with LTIR usage - $13M gross). |

You know i thought that too, but then I look at the logjam and you got propsects with less upside, but who are close to where they make the future roster in a year as they will need to be able to be lost via wavier, if they don't make the parent club, and I think we all want them to long more NHL soon. |

Gonna be interesting to hear the press conference for explanations on some of these guys.
I like the Bertuzzi and TT signings. Smith and Maroon remind me of Perry. They'll show why they are on 1-year low money contracts with the Hawks in short order. I like the goalie pickup. If Soda can prove he is an actual goalie, he'll have to unseat someone. |

Except for TT and Bertuzzi, the rest of the signings wouldn't play much or make a cup contender. |

McGroarty rumblings:
What Could the Winnipeg Jets Get Back For Rutger McGroarty?
Murat Ates of The Athletic: Ates writes that Winnipeg Jets prospect Rutger McGroarty is getting interest from several teams around the NHL. McGroarty will not attend developmental camp for the Jets next week.
While a trade did not happen during the NHL Draft, that does not mean it can’t happen in the offseason. Ates looks at what the Jets could get back from three teams who have been calling.
NHL Rumors: Blue Jackets, Blackhawks, Hurricanes, and the Senators
He starts with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Columbus is rebuilding and could use a player like McGroarty to complement its talented young core. If the Jets and Blue Jackets were trade partners again, a name that could be part of the trade is defenceman David Jiricek. They also could get the local kid Denton Mateychuk.
If the Jets and Ottawa Senators work on a trade, Nikolaj Ehlers and Jakob Chychrun (Chychrun was traded to the Capitals Monday) will be the names discussed. As Ates writes, if Thomas Chabot is the target, then that works for a McGroarty trade out of Winnipeg. While it has been denied, it does not mean it can’t happen.
The final team he looks at is the San Jose Sharks. San Jose has the fourth-best prospect pool. So the Jets could choose from one of Quentin Musty, Shakir Mukhamadullin and Filip Bystedt.
The McGroarty trade is not the other item on their plate. Winnipeg has RFAs Cole Perfetti and Logan Stanley. |

This is not a cup contender and now they don´t have to play Folingo in first line. They are lottery team next year too but I would like to see at least 20 points increase from them. |
