Can't figure why Toronto couldn't pick up Skinner at 3m for one year.
Especially if Robertson in fact doesn't come back.

Skinner 1 year 3 AAV to Edmonton.
Guess they won't have space to keep Henrique.
Maybe if the Leafs clear some cap space by getting rid of McCabe and Kampf, they can afford Henrique at 4-5 AAV.

Henrique would be a decent 3C add if we could. Funny will be watching Burford have to change the sign again comi g into town. They literally just had it changed from the old Ducks one. 🤣🤣🤣 |

Kampf, Reaves, Timmins, McCabe all traded. Maybe you get a 2nd, a 3rd, a 5th and a 7th. Use that, plus Robertson to get Askarov. Might need more but whatever.
Knies / Matthews / Marner
Domi / Tavares / Nylander
McMann / Henrique (4.5) / Jarnkrok
Comtois (900K) / Tierney (900K) / Clutterbuck (900K)
Rielly / Tanev
OEL / Liljegren
Benoit / Hakanpaa
Woll / Stolarz
Askarov / Murray |

Could score 50 with McDavid just because of how well he skates. |

Man, a guy goes to a bbq for an afternoon and it rains bananas.
All right ..I got, 11F, 7D (Timmins and Weber don't count), and 2G in the lineup and the Leafs have $2M left in the tank.
Trade Liljegren for picks, let Hakanpaa take his spot, add a cheap #7D and you've got $4M to spend on a 3C like Henrique.
Or package up Lilly and Robertson for that 3C. |

When was the last time Treliving signed a guy and then traded him? I don't see Liljegren getting moved even though I'd prefer he did. Hakanpaa is just as unqualified to be a top-4 D as Liljegren is. Just like how Tanev shouldn't be on the top pair.
They have to move Kampf, Reaves and McCabe for the cap space to get Henrique and strengthen the 4th line. They can use the picks they receive plus Robertson plus more to try and get Askarov into the system. |

Keep your hopes up b/c they may have signed Lilly b/c signing him for a couple years makes him more moveable. If they hadn't signed him and just qualified him it would have made him tough to move b/c he has arbitration. They may not be trading him but by signing him they made him much more tradeable.
And the signing Hakanpaa leads me to believe it's at least an option. Benoit and Hakanpaa looks a little bit like Tree's old version of a 3rd pair with Gudbranson and Zadorov. |

That's plausible but why didn't they also do that with Robertson especially when he requested a trade?
Like I said, I'd rather trade Liljegren but Treliving seems "hopeful" with the younger guys he signed like Woll as another example. He thinks he's getting a deal because they're going to improve with time. |

Because Robertson won't sign. This seems to be brand new to you every single time, but a contract takes an agreement from both parties. You don't just get to go hey, you're signed now, we signed you. |

What's with the Henrique talk? This dude rode the coat tails of the Oilers, played 4 playoff games in like 10 years before this season. Avoid this mess and hard pass. |

Nobody has mentioned Florida. They're shedding players, but have yet to sign anyone of significance. Maybe winning the Cup is enough and now they hibernate for a while. Boston might become our greatest obstacle to get out of the Atlantic. Leafs still need one more defensive piece and a 3rd line centre. Liljegren must be traded, as should Robertson. Picks, prospects, I don't care. |

Lilly had arbitration rights. Teams don't like those kind of unknowns. I don't know if Tree wants him or not but signing him helps either way (trade or keep).
Robertson has zero rights other than a 5% raise on his qualifying offer. He's tradable no matter what. Not sure what he's worth but no team needs to be scared about his contract situation because he's under team control. |

I'm not sure how much he's got left in the tank but he's better than Holmberg I think. Leafs only have Matthews, Tavares and Kampf as NHL centres. They need a 3C and Henrique might be the best of the rest.
Or maybe there's a trade out there. |

Shooting Kampf into the sun and signing Dewar on the cheap to take his spot should be an automatic. |

To be perfectly honest I’d even be surprised if they tried to move Reaves |
