...what did you expect to get for him?
- SuperHenderson13

I'm not upset over what we got, but the retention part is what I find to be a little hysterical. I get it though, had to make concessions to make it work. Might as well offer 50% retained on Graves to ship him out.

The problem with retaining on Graves is the length of his deal. They'll try and work with him to get a better performance first, then move him. No need to rush, we've got a few years of treading water here ahead.

Does Crosby even want to extend after these off-season moves??? Dubas' plan makes no sense!! Any young players we have now for Crosby to "groom" will not be the players that make the Pens competitive in the future - unless we draft franchise players in the 2nd round. All the picks that he's trying to pile up won't have an impact until the core is gone. Why not sign a few decent players to help now and through the transition...

2027? Odds are at least one if not more regular posters on here will be dead by the time that gets used.

Thats what theyve been trying to do, and it hasnt been working. You cant compete on the cheap in the situation the Pens are already in now.

The rebuild has come, and its going to get darker before it gets brighter.

Also, nobody with a legit future is going to want to play here for the next few years, Pitt will be a place for those needing to catch lightning in a bottle for a new start and nothing more.

Dubas has a way of doing this. It's quite a talent.

I totally get that. I think I'm just going through the stages of grief at this point trying to accept where we're at as a franchise. I think I have a similar feeling to the pose right below yours. More frustrated for Crosby's sake and want to see a semi-competitive team for next year.

Can't even begin to understand how Washington is doing what they're doing. Kudos to them, but they HAVE to have a trade for Oshie lined up.

If Dubas wants Sid to ink another deal, I'm pretty sure he'll be making a trade for a top 6 wing.

WSH GM has some balls, Dubas is hiding behind playing it safe this year because most of his signings last year didn't pan out...

Nah, the Caps have Backstrom + Oshie both going on LTIR for the full season in the last year of their contracts gifting them $15M to spend this year.

Who called Anthony Beuvillier?

I wonder if Dubas is getting some more AHLers because some of the younger guys are going to get a shot?

My guess here is they think he'll rebound a bit (had 18 goals just 2 seasons ago) and they can trade him by (or at) the TDL for a pick, which then also opens a spot for a young guy to take later in the year.

Hahaha you were in here bashing him just a few days ago saying no one would want him. You could do worse than him for less than a 4 mill cap hit in a contract year.

How is Eller or Accari not traded yet? We have too many C’s.

Hahaha I was just joking, really....its a running joke for a number of years around here.

They really have gotten younger though. There will more continuity in the roster for a lot of guys. Maybe Yager surprises and sticks. My prediction for the season is missing the playoffs by 4 or 5 points hahah. Based on no more moves, that is.

Haha I know, I'm just more of a silent observer most days. I'm still waiting for someone to suggest trading all of our bad players for all of their good players...

I like what the Caps have done. They are giving OV a chance, but some other team is going to have to bail that out of cap trouble. They are 13 mill over. Realistically it will be 3.8 mill when you account for the LTIR of Backstrom.

I’m sure with teams striking out, Eller might have more interest. Seems like this is what happened with NYR going after Smith. Plus, NYR avoided a long term contract when they have quite a few contracts expiring in the next 1-3 years.

You can swing a C to the wing so it isn't a terrible problem.
