The Seattle media tried so hard to pump his tires but it was pretty clear he’s not a middle six player in the NHL and he’s not really effective as an ‘energy’ guy. If you only play 3 lines and you can afford to have a guy on the bench who only plays PP time he *could contribute I guess.

I'd love for the Canucks to take a flyer on Yamamoto or Zadina and see if they can't rehabilitate them into potential top 6/middle 6 options.

Seattle is a victim of Vegas' starting success. Tried to come out of the block quick like the Knights, but now have a mismash team that has no identity. Kinda like the Habs after the bubble thingy thinking they were a legit contending team.

Enjoy Heinen. He is one of the more underrated players in the NHL with a good motor and can play anywhere in the lineup. Not happy we let him walk over 2.5 million.

The prospect pipeline is solid. If you ignore Vegas, they’ll be more competitive faster than the other recent expansion teams. The playoff run hurt them because it shifted expectations.

Curious as to why you would think that. He righted his ship after the apparent trade request and Tocchet using him immensely. Don't wanna toss the towel in on Garland yet IMO...

You literally misread everything I said.

If you take what’s out of the picture, because what they got at expansion has never been seen before, nor will (likely) ever be seen again.

So compared to the likes of Columbus, Nashville etc, I think Seattle will become more competitive, more quickly.

Aah Smashville came outta the gate pretty decent & a PO team for years with far less of a pool of unprotected players to pick from . Try again. Seattle well on their way to being CBJ west if they don’t smarten up & trying to be a later lottery team.
