Dont know what I want to happen exactly but I really think they have to do something about the salary cap. It's so F'd. You mentioned the Wennberg signing b/c SJ needed the 5 million AAV to hit the floor.
Also the thought of trading someone who has a big cap but is on LTIR to a team to 'dump cap space' so that cap can be strategically used to get to the cap floor is dumb. They need to re-think a lot of that.

Imo the one thing that is half assed regarding contracts is the tax free places where you can give a guy less money and it would be the same as in NY or tax crazy states. Ain’t fair man.
Just have to ignore them. Especially the 'well i hope you're happy with the presidents trophy' line. - evitageN
To be fair. Brukie uses that on Jim, because when the Rangers 5 on 5 played really dipped after the deadline and into the playoffs Brukie and I pointed that out. We we're hit with that line. I won't repeat it, because it seems like it's triggering.

They need to come up with a way to factor in state/local taxes and make % adjustments based on location etc.

Yeah I know what you mean but would you rather live in Florida or NYC when you're in the age range of 22-35? The answer isn't Florida.
but I hear you and agree. I kind of want to just remove the salary cap all together. Too many silly factors.

Also when cap goes up by like 5% in a season, should everyones contract also go up 5%? If it goes down 5% from season to season should everyones contract go down 5%? I just think it's an extremely flawed system.
