I would very surprised if he's traded at this point. Everyone in the league knows the issue.
So if he wants him gone, he's gonna have to buy him out. Thats all I'm saying.
And this whole "wife" mess was created by the media. Not Drury, not Trouba, not the players. They figured he's gonnab trade trouba cause he asked for his list a day early. Then the speculation started. - OLDSCHOOL#6
Well he’s definitely trying to trade trouba. I don’t know what’s soft about anything that’s happened it just seems like a word people throw around |

Look, dig your heels in as much as you want, but I’m telling you there are ways to make the numbers work so every team is on the same field, regardless of team location. It’s financially and mathematically possible. If you don’t want to be open minded to something like that, that’s on you. - Bean_Dip
Im open to it but I have never thought about it because it was never a subject of topic anywhere, the the Teams dont say anything, Players union doesnt and neither does the league. The only people who have a problem with it are the fans of teams in higher tax states. |

Wow so all the homophobic references and nobody reported Jim?? But mention the Rangers are bad and you go into full meltdown. You guys are pretty tolerable. Amazing
Edit Not to mention the constant bullying of Tom. |

How can I take anything you say seriously if you spew this garbage? - Slimtj100
Signing Trouba led to Panarin signing that led to the Mika signing. You know how I felt about the Panarin/Mika signing, that I had thought they were soft and couldnt carry a team in the playoffs. 5 years, 2 GMs, 3 coaches and 30 RW's for Mika and CK20 and we are just close but too far away. |

There is not a simple math solution for this. If there is, you havent presented it. - Brukie
How many times do I have to say it?: variable cap dependent on local characteristics; fx hedge the CAD/USD differential (and vice versa).
All of the other things like cola, gas prices, home prices, etc. are at the margins and preference dependent. Some people want to live in NYC, some people want to live Dallas, some people want to live in Vancouver. But they directly impact teams ability to manage the cap. |

Just going back for a moment to Anthony Duclair.
This is a guy who was healthy scratched for Florida two years ago in playoffs and was healthy scratched by the Sharks last year.
Anyone advocating for the Rangers to sign him for Goodrow money for 4 years, when all we have is good young wingers in the pipeline is a dumb mother (frank)er |

Now that I got a minute to process all this with Trouba, heres how I feel about it…
I think Drury really fumbled the ball here with Trouba. As a GM you have to have the foresight to understand these situations. The NTC was placed specifically on this year because his wifes residency was supposed to end this year, however COVID messed it all up and extended it a year. Although this would have been a great year to plug some holes, as we saw by many of the contracts handed out, there was some serious gassing up of contracts. So when you put 2-and-2 together, to do all this with Trouba was really poorly done and completely unnecessary. It could have waited until next year when we really would have needed it. |

The Trouba situation hasn’t resolved itself either way.
Whatever is going to happen hasn’t happened yet.
People are jumping the gun on losing their minds
Currently it’s an annoying situation on July 2nd when the season starts mid October |

It’s just annoying cause If it happens how do they replace him? All the free agent d men are gone. They don’t have many good trade assets. Are they trading for a d man and a top line RW? It just doesn’t add up anymore. At this point it probably makes more sense to stay and do it all again next offseason |

I think a guy like Gudas could be a good trade target if they manage to get rid of Trouba
But I think we just need to let this play out |

Waiving Goodrow hasnt helped either, supposedly some player felt that the did Goodrow wrong.
This might just bring the team together. It could have a ripple effect thru the league when signing free agents. |
