How about Michael Granlund for 3C.

Buds with Krok, good 2-way guy entering his last year, on a poopty team. Destined to be traded by the deadline.

California Robertson for Granlund with some salary retention?

Maybe Lilly and Cali Rob for Granlund and sumpin' sumpin'?

I know ..I know ..I'm a genius.

Do you think that would really work, though? I feel like people in southern Ontario aren't so much hockey fans as they are just Leaf fans. I would love to see another team in the area though.

He should because he has a better shooting % than Willy, and puts himself in better spots to score than Willy does.
- Horsey Sauce

He has a better shooting % cause he doesn’t shoot. Maybe shoot more for sure - like in Boston when he got ‘hurt’ twirling around rather than shooting. Not too much though - his shot is akin to a 12yr olds.

Weird thing to do man (other post). Stuff like that is what makes folks think Mitchy obsessions are creepy. And before you say I just don’t like him - I have said multiple times trade him or Willy but to me he’s the obvious choice to trade.

Oh - he doesn’t put himself in better spots - Willy drives the net while Mitch plays perimeter

I thought i could sympathize with your anger, but the fact you don't understand these are AHL depth signings, the type every team makes, makes me start to think you are either a troll or a (frank)ing idiot.

A little weak on the FOs last year. A little small too. Think he's more in the mold of a 2C, seems more offensive minded.

I'd love to see a Hamilton team, absolutely. But Toronto and Buffalo's territorial rights are a real thing and they'd both be telling a prospective franchise (frank) you pay me.
- Zezel

So here me out here.

Until very recently, I laughed at anyone who suggested that the Leafs would ever allow another team in their territory.

It could never happen.

It did not make economic sense.

But now things are different.

It’s owned by Bell and Rogers, who are at odds with each other.

They have the option to buy out Tanenbaum, and they most certainly will.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/...g%20a%20five%20per%20cent

So instead of continuing to fight, why not create an agreement to buy the Sens, divorce, split the teams, and have two Toronto teams?

I’d cheer for both.

My issue with this is that he’s not a wizard. He’s predictable now at this stage in his career. He still makes unreal passes once every couple games but the problem is that when he’s on a team that doesn’t play good team defensive and is thin upfront on responsible forwards - there are games where he becomes a liability on that side of the game.

He tried his Jr passes and they get picked. He is a machine at giveaways on the PP some nights man. He is constantly outmuscled along the wall and frankly everywhere on the ice. But man do they look pretty when they work (his passes). They are fantastic and those plays can’t be made by most in the league kinda good.

Mitch is too soft and shy to change up his game. He won’t ‘dance’ cause he’ll get lit up sometimes and he’s not prepared to have that happen. He goes away in games when time and space are limited and or versus physical teams with tough dmen. He gets rid of the puck in a risky way and generally looks scared.

High Risk/ High Reward never goes with the description of a true Selke worthy hockey player. Smart distribution and puck manage my does. Mitch does not have that on his side.

End of the day I forget who said it in here but very apt: nobody has ever changed another’s mind in here and they are just opinions and the way we see the game. (Paraphrase obviously)

You're crazy.

He has earned it. He gave both Tavares and Matthews career years in goals with a bundle of primary assists.

What you're suggesting is that the coach make the team worse in his first year as coach.

Sorry, that's a bad plan for everybody.

- Rare_Jewel

Y’all are gonna be praising Mitchy when the season starts…and not because he waived his NMC.
I looked at the Leafs forward lineup and removing Mitch made my tummy churn. Without him, the depth is gone. Of course we don’t know what could be coming back in a trade, but I don’t see the Leafs winning a Marner trade.
As always, I leave the past behind when a new season starts. I don’t give a (frank) about what a player did last year…good or bad (except when negotiating a new contract, lol). Nor do I care what the team did in previous playoffs.

I also like Kampf. Thought he played great down the stretch. Motor never stopped.

I also think JT comes into camp in the best shape he’s been in years. I predict he’ll gain half a step over last year and you’ll all be hoping to get Captain JT Leafy PJ’s for Christmas.
