Yo LA, reading this I thought of you. The point of this piece is did the Hawks tamper with Bertuzzi but for me it was in multiple examples from different people who show the difference a Foligno makes off the ice. https://www.msn.com/en-us...4d81a12f5c17c8da7cee&ei=9

I know you weren't diggin the adds KD made last yr, and turns out you guys had some points and legit concerns, but would you concede Foligno was a good signing?

Turns out as an old man I often think of being a 14-15-16 yr old in my Pops' house in a 12x12 bedroom with a couple buds getting our minds right and listening to Pink Floyd on a Sansui G-9000, Pioneer pl560 turntable with a Shure V15 cartridge on a pair of Bose 901's.

Pink Floyd truly is other wordly.

Good that means Rockford great for his development send Korchinski down also pair them together and create chemistry between them. Nazar slaggert also go to the rock. Look what it did for vlasic. The rookies will tell management when they are ready.
- Scott1977

Count me as one who don't think KK and Levshunov will be paired in the Bigs. Both offensive minded. Give each one a solid defensive Dman that allows them to play to their strengths, skating and be offensive.

5 yrs from now Lev takes 25 minutes on the top pairing, the tough matchups and plays offensively. KK takes the weaker matchup, 21 minutes a night on the 2nd pairing, plays offensively and the two of them fight it out to run the 1st unit PP or being opposite shots both on the top PP. .... But, I'd hope the Hawks have 4-5 guys, besides Bedard, who have so much skill that the PP runs with just one Dman.

Come on Rico you’ve got to be better than that. Judging people by where they live? Changing the name of their State, trying to be funny? Really? That is just as bad as judging people by the colour of their skin. As Anthony Bourdain said, meet and talk to people you disagree with. Try to understand their point of view. You may still not agree with them but both of you may respect each other.

It wasn't a political comment.

Why would he go to Rockford when they only have 6 NHL defenders on the roster including him and since he had a good season and improved steadily as it went on last year?

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Would be a massive step back to play a full season of NHL hockey then get punted down to the AHL. Unless you really want to mind (frank) the kid.

- fattybeef

Fatty. I know you think the AHL is overrated for development but KK may like the idea of playing in the AHL. He knows better than anyone if he feels like he belongs in the NHL or that he feels a yr vs less in RKF would be good for him....... You're probably right he wouldn't like the demotion but we don't really know.

He seems like a steady kid between the ears and to my eye closeups of him on the ice I see a kid with a look of trying to hang on.

I know that this wasn't directed at something I wrote, necessarily, but I sort of touched on it as well. Ok, the 'why' would be this, so that you pair these guys up (one a LD one a RD) -and give them both a ton of minutes in the AHL environment, and, in particular, so as to give them the primary D assignments on a nightly basis - see how they go under the max amount of AHL level pressure- which can also be scaled back a little easier than at the NHL level. Not least because they wouldn't necessarily be getting those assignments in the NHL.
- SC116

Good post....... Scouting, evaluating then drafting are all important, you can say crucial. But the path/plan the organIzation has for each and every prospect is as crucial as any step. It's the development phase of a future NHLer.

We're watching as the organIzation progresses thru the phases of a rebuild, and it's fun. Whether or not KK goes down to the AHL or The Soviet plays NHL or AHL is very important. Less so with Kaiser, Allen, Del Mastro cuz they're a bit along in the process and older but the paths they choose for Lev and KK interests me.

Yeah Paul, can't you read? He said that his post was not political so whatever he said is inherently non-political.

...Even though the views expressed regarding those funnily named regions are entirely based on the politics of said regions. And then tell others not to "walk up to the line where politics fly", which seems (to me) to be shutting down any further discussion on the topic in order to get the last word.

The Blackhawks should be comprised of the best 6 or 7 defenders. If Korchinski is one of the best 6 or 7 coming out of camp he belongs on the Hawks, if not he belongs in Rockford. Simple really.
- paulr

Seems fair enough but maybe not so simple... Little doubt in my mind if the Hawks coulda sent KK to RKF last yr they would have. They though the lesser of two evils was to bring KK up to the Bigs instead of back to jrs but it does not mean he was NHL ready.

With the adds of Martinez and Brodie and a good spell in the AHL for Kaiser, Phillips, Del Mastro, Allen they can now do what's best for the prospect, in this case a just turned 20, KK.

He could be slightly better than say Del Mastro (possibly) or Kaiser ( I doubt it) in camp but the best move for the prospect, KK, to develop properly is to play AHL. ...... I do agree, best man up, you earned it, but it ain't always that simple.

I'd add Vlasic to that and possibly Kurashev and hopefully Reichel. Vlasic made great strides last season but I'm wondering if there is a little more offense to his game.

I know he's regarded as more of defensive dman but he had a couple really nice stretch passes and a pretty decent shot.

Obvs Kurashev benefitted from having Bedard on his line but I thought he got better as the season went on and was contributing more to driving play than merely being a recipient.

Reichel started to flash at the end what we saw from him at the end of the prior season. Hopefully he can pick up where he left off and finally cement a roster spot somewhere in the top 6.

Now if someone could please pass me the Kool Aid...

- HawkintheD

I'm with you, D. Very reasonable to expect improvement outa Reichel, Kurashev, Vlasic and KK too if he stays up. But I really agree with Vlasic having more offense in him.

Even in jrs as a very conservative Dman he had the look. His skating was always a big reason for that but he shows offensive IQ although not overwhelming. He stradles the line nicely, head up, became less rushed, most of his shots get thru cuz he understands the importance of that and that it does not have to be on net. He'll shoot wide for a bounce or at sticks for deflections and keeps the puck low where it's most dangerous.

And his rushes, and decisions to do so, were excellent. Kid has a real top end speed and balance that allows him to jump in but it's usually his hands that fail him, cuz he gets to spots. .... And end to end with his size/reach/balance nobody can take the puck away from him.

Yep, I think he's got 35ish NHL points in him sans PP time. He'll get enough minutes, has the feet and IQ to do so IMO.

At least you didn't call me woke! If you did so I would have been mad, real real mad. Insert smiley face emoji........

How bout dem Hawks??? Finally, a very faint dim light at the end of the tunnel. If it pops like it looks like it might I'll be all on board for total rebuilds as opposed to some form of retools.

Is it political if I bring up the scuttlebutt on the internets StanBow might get an interview with EDM?
