Clears eyes, closed mind. I know what I'm getting into next season with the Rangers especially if this is the team as is.
You people badly want me to disrespect you and I just won't. Disrespect the Rangers, oh yes. Disrespect Drury? 1 million times over. - blacksheep1
I legitimately hope you get back to whoever you were like 6 - 12 months ago. Somethings really wrong with you now. |

So just to be clear, Dallas, the team that lost in the WCF and has so far:
- Bought out Suter
- Traded Faksa
- Lost Tanev to FA
- Signed Dumba, Brendan Smith and Colin Blackwell
Is still a serious contender, but the team that lost in the ECF and has so far:
- Lost Goodrow to waivers
- Traded for Riley Smith
Is not a real contender. - SkjeiStadium
I’d rank Florida edm dallas avs Vegas over ny. The rangers are a very good team but serious contenders are typically a top 10 5v5 team. That’s how I look at it |

Hopefully, a large part of that was Othmann making the switch from LW to RW. It's a small thing, but adjusting to positioning, back-hand use, etc. could be enough to just fall off in terms of production. This season will tell for sure. - Tonybere
The first thing you always hear is "bad skater" ... All we heard about Laffy. I dont know but his skating looks pretty darn good to me last year. You have said it and a lot have said it- indecsion makes you look slow. - hence changing from left to right. |

There was a specific reason I wanted Marchessault, it was his production at even strength. Its not like were FAR off, but there are specific spots that need to be addressed.
The problem is the manner in which Drury went about his business. He didnt have to do it the second the buyout window opened, and didnt have to jump on Trouba for his list a week before FA opened.
Now on top of the issues that still havent really been addressed, we may have an unknown locker room issue as a result. |

Context is important here. This was in regards to them running it back. Haven’t we seen this movie before? If they made changes outlook would be higher - nyrangers2
What context? You said that they have literally zero shot to win the cup this year, and then when you are called out for saying the season is over (the cup is what they play for after all) you say that you never once said that "bud"
You literally said exactly that, everyone can go back and read the "context" but it doesn't change what you said |

Smith helps a little 5v5. sprong is surprisingly one of the most efficient 5v5 scorers in the league. Definitely worth a look if a trade can’t be swung. Just gotta figure out how to fit everyone in the lineup |

The core for Dallas is still young enough to say this is the correct take.
Plus Dallas is great amateur scoring team. |

Bump Kreider and Cuylle down, move LAF to LW opening a slot for Sprong. |

I’m kinda over this locker room issue junk. I’ve brought up Vegas 3 times now. Do you think they have a locker room issue or disgruntled player issue? Everyone will show up to camp and play to win. Maybe even more motivated?? in your view what do you think is happening or will happen because of trouba and goodrow? |

you would have shredded Drury if he gave Duclair 4 years 3.5 mil a year like the Isles did and you shred Drury for not doing it
you acting like you don't just love chaos and acting like an ass no matter what happens is the biggest joke on here - jimbro83
So cap allocation and quality of player doesn't matter. Understood. |

So Vegas who squeaked into the playoffs as the WC2 and lost in the first round is more of a contender than the team that just won the presidents trophy and lost in game 6 of the ECF.
The rangers aren't perfect and have areas they need to improve on but if you were to poll the GMs of the league for who the real contenders are going into next year 90%+ would have the rangers on that list, despite the frustration that some fans feel |

Vegas I think is a better team but they had a hard route in the PO and a ton of injuries during the season and some fake ones |

Tom doesn't have any real hockey opinions. He never said going into July 1 who he would have liked to see the Rangers sign, besides his obnoxious "let's sign bad players so Drury gets fired take"
Just like he has no solution for the Trouba situation or anything other transaction before it happens. He never says "they should go get XYZ player because if they did that they he would have to be happy about it or own the fact that he was wrong if it doesn't work out
His one opinion is "Drury bad" and we get to be beaten over the head with that opinion non-stop |

I mean they would have to sign Sprong first before we go any further down that path. Hard for me to sign off on breaking up Bread/Tro/Laf but they should obviously try everything. And keeping Kreider and Mika together should not be the top priority. If it works out, cool. But ffs try something new first |

They definitely did and I think they're a good team also.
I don't think that the Rangers will go into this year as cup favorites, nor should they be considered that at this point, but to say they have no chance or that they're significantly behind these other teams is too much IMO.
All other injuries aside, if Fox was healthy for the playoffs there is a very good chance IMO that the Rangers would have been playing Edmonton for the cup. |

I've seen two main complaints about how Drury handled the Trouba situation
one, he disprespected Trouba and has "ruined the room"
the other is that not getting rid of Trouba fast enough blew the oppportunity to add free agents July 1st
these are mutually exclusive sentiments
anytime anyone has brought one of these up, Tom has been like YES!!!

The Rangers are currently tied for the 7th best odds to win the Cup, according to FanDuel. The teams with better odds are:
Panthers, Oilers, Stars, Devils, Avs, and Hurricanes
I disagree with at least three of these

You didn’t say this?…
“This might be the least interested I’ve been in a season coming up since the late 90s. You just know without watching they have zero shot to win a cup. Literally zero |

Not far behind. Drury just has to be able to prove he can make the right moves at the tdl. He’s made some good moves and some real bad ones. Going into the season as is they will be good but have work to do |

People also forget that his wife who is now the "cause" of these problems, was also the reason that he wanted to come here in the first place. We can debates whether that trade/signing was a mistake from the beginning but I think most of us were pretty happy when he was brought over and appreciated the fact that he and his wife wanted to be here.
Holding that against him/her at this point is ridiculous. He's trying to do what's best for his family and Drury is trying to do what's best for the team. These are professionals and this situation is not exclusive to the rangers or Drury. Whatever ends up happening, I highly doubt the room is "ruined" and I also doubt that Trouba would sit out and forego $6M in salary just because he is traded
