no I didn't forget at all. go back and read what I said. - hello it's me 2050
Sorry, but this is a ridiculous post. The Flyers officially started the rebuild once Fletcher and Scott were fired. Since then Briere has been working to draft and develop players and obtain more assets in a deep 2025 draft. Michkov was the highest rated player in the draft season, a close 2nd to only Connor Bedard. After Bonk's +1 a redraft would have put him even higher in the 1st round. Jett Luchenko has a high ceiling. Plus next year the Flyers have 6 picks in the first two rounds of a very good draft. We shall see how Drysdale and Quitter develop, but remember, Quitter was a Fletcher pick, not a Briere pick. In the end, we can't judge these picks and prospects now, we have to wait 2-3 years to see how it turns out. Briere took a gamble on Michkov last year and he took a gamble on Luchenko this year. How these gambles turn out will determine if Briere has a job or not. |

So lets compare to a gold standard to some, Hurricanes.
Jett
MM - in the NHL
Cutter - in the NHL
Samu - in the AHL
Badinka
Nadeau - played 1 game in the NHL, currently listed as AHL
Trikozov - in the AHL
Morrow - played 2 games in the NHL, currently listed as AHL
Which looks better a team with 2 of 4 picks in the NHL or a team with none? - WhiskeyMan
Badinka- picked THIS draft at #34 in the 2nd round
Nadeau picked #30 same year as Michkov who has played no games in the NHL.
Trikozov picked #60 in 2nd round
Morrow picked #40 in 2nd round.
I'm not sure what you are getting at.

He is healthy, and rest assured he will not report to camp - jd250
If he is healthy then he has to report to camp. If he doesn't, the Flyers can suspend him.

Yup, Jett's not that good ... - jd250
First, that's a drill. Secondly, there isn't anyone on this forum that I'm aware of that has said that Luchanko is not good or won't be a good player.

look at Briebois' moves the past few yrs and then compare to Briere's now tell me who is doing a better job. That Tampa team is hanging on my a thread these days overpaying and then liquidating - rinse repeat - 26912 PP
Briesbois. That TB team has 3 elite level players and just added Guentzel.

you also miss the point. shocking. MM was not a gamble at all. It was the simple smart play. No matter how he turns out. It was the correct move.
Especially about Cutter. JD is soft as butter injury prone at bad spots of the body. Just do not see it with him at all so far.
But your boy Flahr has bene the constant during both tenures. |

Mind boggling. Three 2nd rounders and a late first round pick (30th) to three top 15 picks and a dude who has 69 AHL regular season games under his belt. If anything the comparison is, oh wow the Canes actually signed their college draft picks and got them in NHL games. |

Would this work?
To TOR: Laughton
To PHL: Liljegren + 2025 2nd rounder(FLA pick)
Both have 2 years at 3mil. Lilijegren is 25 right shot, RD.
TOR upgrades their bottom 6.

Looking at the back and forths today, it must be an extremely slow news/rumors day.
Laughton still here
TK status the same
Frost still gonna be a healthy scratch
Farabee in the doghouse
Risto recovering from late surgery
Coots getting paid
Michkov is the Flyers new doughnut (no center)
Same defense returning
Same offense returning but with MM
Same goalies returning
Same coaches returning
Alrighty. It’s been one helluva ride so far since the Flyers last played! But…
Well show em all at next years draft!

Does anyone think when Bonk does get here, that Rocky and Torts experiments with him at the bumper position?

You can't be serious with this, right? Right??? 'Currently listed as AHL' it's the (frank)ing offseason. The total number of NHL games played by those Canes prospects you listed is still more NHL games than the Flyers prospects (or former) you listed. Can you do me a favor and list each one's draft year and pick number? Thanks. - TobyFlenderson
Just yesterday the same poster said prospects mean nothing and are crap. |

From the draft reports he is a superior skater with speed and edge work. You can't tell anything by one small clip of one drill - seems like a 20 second clip provided by JD2Fitty trying to prove he "has the goods."
Skating does look good in it but not much to go on in terms of what his ceiling is at this time.

Even though I think the Flyers thought process was poor and they picked the wrong player. I still believe that Luchanko is going to be a good player for the Flyers. I'm glad that they picked a player with elite skating ability. They badly need that in the lineup.

I think JD was the pickup because they were counting on his production last year to get into the playoffs, otherwise shouldve held cutter and traded in the offseason.

I don't see anything too impressive besides the skating. That was pretty feeble defending from josh z. And the goalie didn't even try. Just stood there leaving a gaping hole blocker side.

I worry about JD. Has he ever been healthy? And the kind of injuries he has sustained worry me that they may end up being chronic. Abdomen, shoulder etc.

He is healthy, but will claim he is not healthy as he has so far since trade. Briere has said it multiple times if you read between the lines, Johansen is faking. |
