Savoie is 5’9” 175 lbs, he’s just another Kailer Yamamoto. This about saving money, not picking up a great prospect.

If Yamamoto was 5'9 and 175 lbs we might've kept him

Yamamoto was 5'8" 155lbs during his time in Edmonton. But keep chirping about how big and strong your 7'0" pylons are that will stop a speed game. Myers, Hronek, Desharnais, Soucy, and Forbert should have no issue keeping up with a speed game.

May help clear the net on PK's but they're dug in deep on rushes.

Have fun with that.

Desharnais can be a 5-6 dman. And be effective at that. As can Myers. And Soucy. and Forbert. Quinn is a 1. Hronek is probably a 3 with 2 upside. Where is the consistent 2-3-4 guys?

Is Matthews, Marner, MacKinnon, Crosby, McDavid, ect afraid of that slow defense? Probably not. Top offense from Hughes and Hronek. Nothing else wise. And PYLONS.

Jonathan Willis, an Oilers writer and smart fellow wrote this about Savoie;

The two best point per game seasons in the WHL by a 19 year old since 03/04 were Brayden Schenn (1.97ppg) and Jordan Eberle (1.86ppg). Savoie put up 2.09 points per game.

Savoie remains a prospect but he is absolutely a fantastic prospect.
