I don't believe that at all. The plan was that these prospects would be good and playing for them this year, not traded away at heavily diminished value. - Lunaion
Wild to, after 5yrs how many are actually playing here |

You speak as if every prospect is on the same timeline. Obviously, this is not the case. And I am sure that some of them will be playing for us this year.
The team knew that some of the prospects need to move in order to get players, and they identified the one that has the worst fit for them going forward. As others have noted, prospects lose value over time and are never as valuable as the fans of that team think they are. Given all of that... how is any of this bad business?

Of course adams drafted Savoie to play for the Sabres as early as last year .
He wasn’t ready/ injury and maybe wasn’t ready to make an impact yet this season.
These guys have more than one plan |

Because if it was the plan he should have started using some of the prospects earlier to improve the team. Could have started the process he's doing right now earlier. |

I cant imagine the Ducks having any interest in Rosen.
So Kulich/Ostlund, wahlberg, 2025 1st, and would still need a roster player from us better than a Krebs and/or greenway. - Mentalorgasm5
At some point I'd draw the line, and I'd definitely draw it at Kulich, Wahlberg and a 2025 1st for somebody with the questions Zegras has around him.
Hard pass for me if I were Adams. |

I think that's a pretty bad misstatement. Prospects lose value over time, if they don't make it to the NHL. No one is talking about Benson's value being down. The longer it takes you to make it, the lower the chance of becoming an impact player.

True he does.. But
for team that can’t score goals and threatens no one offensively without him in the lineup. It would be really dumb to get rid of him. - dozerD10
What do you think of Carlsson and McTavish? |

Really lol
Panic?
Management traded a guy that can’t stay healthy or be relied on for a spot this season.
And got an nhl center with speed in return

Over Ehlers? Not a chance. I'd take Konecny as a cheapish rental. But Ehlers is the better player now and in the future. - Slump Buster I would want Konecny over Ehlers. Atm, both are rentals, so contract status is a moot point.

And the odds of 6-15 picks becoming 30 goal or 70 point guys is also slim.
They have about a 75% chance of playing at least 99 games in their career. 40% chance of playing over 300 games.

Which is the reason I like zegras over both. 2 years of contract then rfa + higher ceiling. Granted, certainly a lower floor. I still think zegras would be a grandslam. |

Still would have a couple of stud RHD in system along with Helenius, ostlund, Rosen, that 3rd round pick this year that I feel great about. - turbo044
A wee bit early to be calling them studs, don't you think?
Even early to call them potential studs. |

Well if you weren't Happy last offseason with him, probably should have moved him then. |
