Good point. I think Poehling is better than Laughto, which is why its puzzling the Flyers have not moved Laughton yet. The only thing I can think of is Danny's comments were meant solely to bring up the price because so far what the Flyers are being offered is just not worth trading him.
- jd250

this is the trap you fall into and buy what they sell you.

it is the fn off season, you are not driving up the value of scott phucking laughton. Can't you just admit they do not want to trade him? Why cant you admit as much?

you move him for what the market is dictating. not a hard concept.

Nah, Laughts' future as President of the Flyers Alumni Association is far more important.

The pickleball events won't organize themselves.

Starting to believe this is what it will be this season, that there are no trades coming this off season. Not even any smoke at this point from what I can tell. Hopefully trades will happen at the deadline next season, since I still believe this lineup is good enough to be a bubble team which is pergatory.

Briere brought up Andrae as a reason not to draft Buium, but he can't even get a look in in his 22 year old season.

Assuming TK gets signed for just 8.0 AAV, you all realize that the above projected roster has the Flyers 2nd line C (7.75m), 2nd line RW (8.0m) and 3/4 line C (3.0m) chewing up 19 million in cap space? Thats insanity. Add on Rostos 5.1m for a 3rd Pairing and the Flyers are spending 24m (more than a 1/4 of their cap) on players NOT the best on the team. That’s more than insanity it’s just Fu$&@ng moronic.

If that's the lineup and it's just line combos, how does that make Konecny not the best player on the team? Simply by where he is placed in the lineup?

That looks like a top 5 pick roster.

If they did the smart thing and moved Laughton and Konecny we could almost solidify it.

Poor choice of words on my part but certainly the point is that the Flyers waste money on players’ contracts and have pretty much always had it backwards. THE top players and time ice time getters should have the bigger contracts.

you may be right that the Flyers do not want to move him, but I don't understand why to be honest. They have Poehling and they can bring up a Phantom to play 4th line center. It just makes no sense. Laughton is not going to matter when this team is good again.

Briere named Andrae specifically when asked about Buium. That has to mean he expects Andrae will make the team very soon.

They move those 2 guys and you can almost prepare your self for drafting in the top 5 for 2025 and 2026. Get a chance at top centers like Hagens(2025) or McKenna(2026).

That is how I would be planning

That's why I am starting to think the Flyers are trading TK, because paying a 2nd line RW $8M+ for 7-8 years just does not make sense, even if the team was not rebuilding.

I put the over/under on you contradicting that at 2 weeks.

If you want to be a Cup team and you have that capability as a team, and aren't rebuilding. Then it makes sense to pay a 2nd line RW if he is good enough.
