calgary maybe off the top of my head? islanders? - hello it's me 2050
Calgary might actually be the one. They are in terrible shape. The Isles made the playoffs last year. I was referencing non-playoff teams from last year.

Yes, but as many have pointed out, TK will be 28 years old when his new contract kicks in. TK can only get 8 years from the Flyers, all other teams can only give him 7 years, so frankly the Flyers don't have to give him an 8th year. - jd250
wrong, any team that holds his rights at the tdl before he goes ufa can offer him an 8 year deal.
Look it up....!!! |

Maybe JD is wrong so often, and everyone but a select few see that, so they feel the need to correct him. - TheFreak
Then correct him, or tell him your opinion. The personal attacks are getting disgusting.
Meanwhile, everyone here is clamoring about a “much deeper draft” next year - because a draft pundit/analyst told you. In reality, most have not watched a single game of any player coming in the next draft and are regurgitating everything you see and then give the next guy sh!t for posting a damn tweet.
Maybe it will be a deeper draft. But everyone here is parroting that and acting like they know. |

yes my bad.
calgary added a lot picks and assets though. They, unlike the gold standard, sold off their top end players. |

I don't get personal at all. I will continue to argue my case, but I leave the personal crap out.

I love TK, but for the right price; which to me should be $8M for 6 years, the same contract that Buchnevich got from St. Louis. But if TK is going to ask for $9M+ for 8 years, there is no way the Flyers should pay that for a someone that will eventually become the 2nd line RW on this team. - jd250
Maybe TK is going to play hardball the entire time and they are forced to make the trade. I love TK too but I just don't see him being part of the timeline and the price/term scares the heck out of me.

At the end of the day there's no guarantee that it would yield a higher quality player -- late 1sts are a 50/50 coin flip even in deeper draft years.
What it does guarantee is that whatever player they pick will be an additional year away from pro development. And for a team starved of talent, with a bunch of vets on long term deals who's primes are limited, that just isn't ideal. - Tomahawk
I get it... they kicked the can down the road for the most part this year. My hope is they get a better pick. It was a risk - we will see at the draft in 2025

Don't think Tkachuk was by choice though. Him leaving definitely changed the philosophy. Calgary is in very good cap shape this year and moving forward despite having 2-3 contracts that are not aging well. I do not think I would swap overall rosters with them though. |

With Kyle Connor, and Barzal taken right after. Imagine where they would be? Perhaps a dynasty.

Clever and cute that you feel a grown man needs to have a bully for the bullies.

it would be the best outcome. I want TK to get paid as I truly enjoy him as a player. Just not be the Flyers for max term. |

No, that's not all you did. You posted it and then stated you are starting to believe it. You're just incredibly easy to manipulate. I don't see the Flyers as a bubble team. I see them as bottom 12 or so in the league. If goaltending falters, worse. - MJL
I said I am starting to believe that NO TRADES will happen this off season and this will moist likely be the lineup. You are just proving Anti-Lame's point. |

I'd rather see the Flyers come to the decision to trade him before that. Could lead to a better return than if the league knows that they can't come to a deal. The latter is still better than signing him to a max term deal.

I'm not worried so much about the time line because I think TK will be really good for at least 5 more seasons, barring injury of course. My concern is about the money. If Michkov develops like we hope, he will be the 1st line RW, moving TK to a 2nd line RW. Also TK is just not at the level of those players that you give a $70M+ contract to, he is a notch below that. The Flyers should extend him fairly, but not go over the top. |

As Bundy reported, that you don't listen to, TK's camp is playing hardball with the Flyers, just as they did for his first contract. They believe he should be a $10M player. |

Agreed. They need to put a line in the sand. If talks don't go anywhere make the move.
