I dont think Drury would trade him to a rival, so that would eliminate a few teams and then his 15 team no trade clause. Throw in the fact that Trouba said he wouldnt report to the team he is traded too probably squashes the rest of the league. He will most likely be here opening night.
- Brukie

Thats the only part that bothers me in this whole thing on troubas side. He has to report to a team he is willing to accept a trade too. Violation of his contract.

The other thing we have to think about at this point is, who are we replacing Trouba with? Forget the minutes, penalty killing etc, his physical presence won’t be easy to replace. NJ made themselves a very physical team this year with other teams putting an emphasis on it as well. I’m not sure moving Trouba is the best decision right now

Just sticking with the Buffalo hypothetical, we could do something revolving around Trouba for Clifton. Both have 2 years left but Clifton makes $3.3M. He's not great but if we're looking for a 3rd pair defender he could work and would save us $4.7M

So if Momma Trouba is in a residency, she can transfer in state? And not lose the time she accrued? As opposed to out of state?

That definitely something that would work for them (trade to Buffalo)

That would give the room to acquire Zegras, which is the move Drury wants to make imo

Can someone post the article or comment directly from Trouba or his camp where he said he wouldn’t report?

I’m 99.99% sure it was made up.

That's my understanding of it. As long as she is in NY she can transfer her residency to another hospital. I have no idea if that is actually true but that's what I've read

To me this is Brooks speculating and looking for clicks. As far as we know Trouba has made no such statement and besides Patrik Berglund who was at the end of his career I can't think of another player just not reporting to an NHL team. I know some older guys won't report to the minors

Don't know the credibility but saw a post saying there has been progress in talks about Trouba between NYR and Buffalo. I guess his wife would still be in NY to finish her residency
- SkjeiStadium

I mentioned this weeks ago that Buffalo could be a place that would work for the Trouba’s as its close to Michigan, its within NYS so the wife doesnt need to recredential her physicians license and Buffalo has some of the top research facilities in the country.

Dillon isn’t bad either and Cotter is no worse than the 4C we have.

So in other words what you’re saying is

Trouba, Kakko, othmann, and a first

For Tuch and Clifton

*To buyout Clifton is only 1.1 for 4 consecutive years (not to bad)

It was crazy to learn that Trouba, a Michigan native, added DET to his no-trade list when he heard that's where #NYR wanted to send him.

All legal, too, as he did it before he submitted it to NYR.

Reports getting out changed everything for NYR.

What an ugly situation.

What are the odds someone has hit him in the head with their putter?

Someone from either side leaked it. Drury is usually tight lipped, so maybe DET did to see what type of reaction they would get? Which they did ……

Rangers re-sign Chad Ruhwedel, one year, two way deal worth 775K
It’s fine, not exciting
