Every team is up to or close to the Cap, Winning the Cup is the prize, Panthers won and will still be strong next season, Oilers added some nice pieces and will most likely make another long run.

Whats your (frank)ing point? Both teams have been more successful than the Rangers and the Oilers are now definitely a stronger team than the Rangers are on paper.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought we were talking about cap management and you said a team can’t win the cup with a top heavy contract build. Both of those teams, the Panthers and Oilers, have similar cap builds to the Rangers. The Panthers just won the cup with a top heavy contract build, and both teams are considered cup contenders for next year.

Saw some rumors on Twitter mentioning the Rangers interest in Mackenzie Weeger. I would certainly be in for that depending on what the package would look like. I assume a combo of Kakko +. I don't know his cap hit but I assume it's relatively affordable

I also see Buffalo's name linked to Trouba. Makes sense geographically

it's this meme

Top Left: We need to build a roster like a contender does
Top Right: Like the panthers and oilers?

The same people that were attaching picks to trade him are the same angry he's gone. Mind blowing
- NYR11

I had posted that I thought he was going to be bought out but then that was before his playoff performance.

If you are insinuating that Im angry, Im not.

Its funny, when we signed Panarin, you said it was all but certain we will win the Cup, you were sucking Panarins cock for his 120 point regular season performance and got your shoe box out to shine that Presidents trophy, yet here we are another Cup less year, I guess its easy to say what you said was completely wrong.

This “I told you so” about a thing that only 1 out of 32 teams win every year is such a pathetic flex

uhhh, no

I've been a Ranger fan as long as anyone here, and Ive never uttered the phrase "all but certain we will win Stanley Cup"

stop trying to turn this place into your insanity

I liked signing Panarin and I still like having Panarin

Florida shut down Pastrnak and Marchand in the playoffs too

Arguably the best Ken M post:

I didnt watch Barkov before last years Panthers run but if you want to compare the 2 on playoff performances, Barkov isnt afraid to hit or get hit. Panarin doesnt like any kind of contact and shies away from it. Barkov skated hard and is an incredible defensive forward, Selke winner, who's defensive game do you like better? Panarin who even some of the posters on here who have stroked him since he arrived here have called him out for his non existent back checking and is a defensive liability or Barkov???

Panarin cant hold Barkov's jock strap.

when Florida won the 2021-22 President's trophy, did they not lose in the 2nd round?

Because a roster loaded with top heavy contracts just doesnt work. Something will have to give in order to get this team to win a Cup.

As built now this team will not win the Cup within this window they have now.

Pararin 11.6m
Barkov 10m
Tkachuk 9.5m
Zibanajad 8.5m

so far their combination is probably better but the money is about the same

I make no sense? Werent you the one celebrating Panarin's 120 point season and the Rangers winning the Presidents trophy, in hindsight, you were wrong. Both didnt carry over thru the playoffs.
- Brukie

In the moment of those things happening, it's hard to not be excited about them. The highs and lows of the sport, getting into the playoffs with the best record in the league and a 120 point scorer hopefully would translate. Obviously we only won 10 of the 16 required games to win the cup, but you cannot keep bashing people for being excited about that in the moment.
