Your threat to shun me and others lasted a whole 15 minutes. Your point was wrong. Both in terms of fact and how it applied to Konecny's leverage in contract negotiations. You were trying to use it as a reason for why the Flyers should only give Konecny a 7 year deal. You were wrong, as usual and were proven wrong. Instead of learning from it and correcting your lack of knowledge. You repeatedly posted it. Despite being corrected on it umpteen times. Speaking for myself, the Flyers as an organization get what they deserve. What their performance dictates. It is unintelligent for you to insinuate that it just about wanting to crap on the Flyers. It is unintelligent for you to claim that I don't want to talk about hockey when I'm on this forum every day, talking about hockey.
- MJL

You are right about one thing, you are on this forum every day, every hour of the day in fact, but you're only telling a half truth. You don't come here to talk hockey, you come here to cause conflict and argue, as well as trash the Flyers. That is ALL you do, every hour of every day. There is mountains of proof to what I am saying, its not disputable.

Every day there is factual proof that I come here to talk hockey. Disagreeing with someone on a topic of hockey, is that not talking hockey? Is being critical of the Flyers, not talking hockey? When does the shunning start?

Fair enough, my intention is never to put out half truths, honestly its not. I am just sharing thoughts and opinions, nothing more. I don't come on this forum to argue with people, I come on here to share ideas and read opinions with like minded Flyers fans that want this team to succeed. I feel there are some on this site that want to this team to continue to fail and live for it. I can't stand it.

We ALL want them to succeed. Where you differ is no matter what your eyes see time and time again you BELIEVE what they say like a fool and believe those and anyone that references anything flyers. No matter if it’s contradictory to what your eyes see and brain SHOULD easily put together.

90%er flyers fan.

You will ALWAYS clash with fans that call a spade a spade. That this organization sucks moose balls and will never learn. Until one day you become so jaded and you can’t stand it anymore and turn on them and become part of the 10 %.

Unfortunately for you there will ALWAYS be the 90%ers out there because the flyers base really isn’t bright. The team knows it. And they profit of it.

There’s a jd50 (sucker) born everyday.

And that’s not to be offensive. We’ve all been there. Wishing you well on your journey to apathy for this team

I want nothing more than for the Flyers to be a dominant, high calibre team. I live close to Vancouver, and hear about how much the Flyers suck daily. I fight for this team daily, and am just getting tired of the same mistakes over and over. I want to win, but want to do it properly.

That's your misinterpretation. You don't understand contracts and negotiation. UFA leverage is the hammer.

The Flyers have no advantage. They can't enforce anything. The Flyers would have to risk keeping him past the deadline and losing him for nothing. Over a one year difference? The reason to wait for Konecny is that teams normally overpay massively in free agency, so why take less than you're looking for? More teams bidding can drive up the salary. Risk of injury is minimal and not likely.

- MJL

A party not being able to enforce something is not synonymous with them not having an advantage.

A tennis player (a sport you have said you follow), has an advantage (literally, in the score) in the next point after 40-40. Yet that tennis player is not able to enforce anything.

ANyway, as in all discussions with you, the conversation devolves to a combination of idiocy, obstinacy, rapidly.

Far be for me to prevent you from publicly setting an example of how to live out the minutes of your life to the fullest, which means I will exit this debate with you.

Says the guy that responded to a political debate almost 3 weeks after the thread had ended….to get in his last word…. “You are” still wrong. Better?
- landros 2

But what does the graveyard post with South Park style humor have to do with anything?

In the exchange in question, I found it so disappointing in its intellectual vacuity and ego-driven obstinacy to admit the same, and so nauseating in its lazy chauvinism, that I took a half a month or so break from HB. I returned, and the matter kinda went to the back of my mind. I went away again, and then finally posted a response. I will dip again soon, so don't take the next rejoinder, whenever that occurs, as a desire to have the last word.

That was the reason for the delay. I am not sure what the delay has to do with getting the last word. What prevents a poster from responding irrespective of the intervening timespan?

Look bud. I am not here to make friends. I acknowledge your good naturedness, you kindness, your decency. Those things are fine when talking about something so inconsequential as hockey.

But a lot of what you wrote ranges from unignorably stupid to disgusting. It has permanently changed my opinion of you.

Exactly..that's why I said I hope they are smarter than that.

On the other side of the coin...if it gets down to where they still own his rights, and only offer him a 7 year deal, he can still play hardball and say he wants the 8th year or he is signing elsewhere. The 8th year would really be the only compelling reason to resign in Philly. If it gets to that point of him still being unsigned and a Flyer after the TDL, I can see it being MORE in TK's favor than the teams.

It is moronic for the team to go down that path.

- TheFreak

Not necessarily. He could get injured while waiting to hit UFA. Not only do home teams have the sole right to offer 8 year,s they also have the sole right to offer extensions before free agency.

I am not suggesting Flyers go down that route. There is a reason almost no team does. I am merely taking your statements at face value.

They had no advantage. I understand that you've been outmaneuvered again. That you have been educated on reality. So your only recourse is to desolve into insults. Hey, maybe you can post some more epitaphs. That was a good look for you.

Injury is not a big risk and won't come into play in the negotiations. It doesn't give the Flyers any leverage. You're ignoring reality in that if they don't come to an agreement, the Flyers will most certainly look to trade Konecny. He and his agent know that and he can then get 8 years from the team he is traded to if they're so inclined to do so. He could certainly be traded to a team as a rental that wouldn't be interested in re-signing and then have to hit free agency. He can then get the same 7 years that the Flyers would be hypothetically offering and possibly a higher AAV with teams competing. It's a win-win for Konecny to stick to wanting 8 years with the Flyers.

Hmmm.

My gentle suggestion. The next time you try to tell someone you don't care what they said, don't do so by prefacing that statement with bringing up what they said weeks ago, and that too, in a context that has nothing to do with the earlier exchange. The actions belie the words.

And a second gentle suggestion. In that earlier exchange, you claimed a parity of education, and a parity of newspaper tastes. I am more than happy to grant you that parity. But in this country, people who are educated and who consider themselves well-informed no longer use terms like "TDS". Because no one in such circles looks down at Trump because of his personaility, his crudeness, his lack of restraint, his vices, or his felony conviction. They do so because of his policies and the nature of his temperament. So, claiming to be educated and well-read and so on and then using terms like TDS is like claiming to be sophisticated and then showing up in a formal event wearing a muscle shirt. I understand you think that all opposition to Trump stems from over-exposure to CNN and Rachel Maddow. And I am sorry to tell you this: that stems from the limitations of your mental universe.

If I remember correctly, and I almost always do, are you not from Ukrainian heritage? Did you not say your grandparents must be "turning in their grave" when Ukraine was invaded? Well, they must be spinning like a top nowadays in those graves, knowing that their dufus grandson is at best ambivalent about a presidency that will, almost certainly, end with the dismemberment of their country and the emasculation of what it is trying to achieve in terms of self-sufficiency.

I am not sure what you are trying to achieve by repeatedly bringing up this issue. I think I have stated my position, and my opinion of you as an idiot, several times over.

And gee? You don't care? Guess what? I don't care that you don't care.

I’m not going to call you names…I’m not a high school kid. In the world I live in, that stuff is left on the ice…and even that isn’t really a thing any longer. You can vote for a vegetable if you see fit….you can vote for the felon…what ever floats you’re boat…You can puff your chest on hockey website all you want. I simply found it amusing that you continue to take personal shots at a guy about him being on here and not having a life yet you go out of your way to antagonize him….while you are (see got it right) here to actually see it.
Personally I’m not impressed by high intellect well educated people when they choose to laud that over others, which you do. In my business world I ate (frank)ers like you for lunch and now can ease my way into a comfortable and ( more importantly) healthy retirement.

Trump's policies were the best policies this country has seen since Reagan. You'd have to be tone death or just plain dumb not to realize that. Anytime you want to be educated on why the left hates Trump, let me know. If Trump had won in 2020, Ukraine would've never been invaded by Putin.

All wonderful words, but I am still unclear what the intent is.

What is the contradiction in the bolded?

And it so happens, and I have said this several times, people just don't remember, I work in the business wolrd too. Hedge funds. I have worked part time in both for the past 10-15 years, and will likely move to business full time by 2026.

And I am very surprised to learn you are capable of eating anyone for lunch, or dinner. Maybe people are just smaller where you are?
