IMO, Krebs wasn't handled with confidence with Granado. Every time he was given a top 6 chance you could tell he was uncomfortable / on pins and needles with over pursuing the play and lack of confidence. Granado spent his efforts on the main core of the team and the bottom 6 seemed to be left to the wayside.
What would Philly be getting in Krebs.... Who really knows honestly.
What would they be getting in Mattias? A good defense first defender that can't stay healthy. But if he could is a massive value on a long-term contract.
With that said... Trading these two for Farabee, Philly assumes all the risk here and I don't see Briere doing this without a prospect added to the pot. |

I agree. Krebs is a complete crap-shoot. The Sabres are pretty much going to have to pay to get rid of him. Probably in the form of a pick or young prospect. A "Prove it" deal, for sure.
Samuelsson would be a nice pickup for Philly, but the cap comes into play.....maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick (or a D Prospect) back to the Sabres for some salary retention?

Are we just desperate to get Flyers Rumors on here? The Flyers actually have some defensive defenseman depth in their org. Sure Samuelsson would help for now when healthy, but the team is rebuilding. In two years the Flyers will have a couple of dmen who will be able to do the same thing. Samuelsson makes 0 sense unless another dman is going back. Don't see it. Also, we are all for reclamation projects, but if am trading Farabee in any trade it's gotta be in a package for a good young or youngish center who could eventually evolve into a 1C. However, after the Savoie trade who knows what value a young player brings these days... |

Buffalo has to pay to get rid of a player they don’t have signed to a contract? That’d be quite the con by Briere.
And Buffalo isn’t retaining a dime on Samuelsson, more than likely because he isn’t being moved. |

Krebs isn't worth much. Looks like a bust at this point.
Farabee isn’t worth much either. He’s had one good season. He’s also awful defensively. He’s worth Krebs and 2nd |

Pay to get rid of a 23 year old player that they haven’t resigned as of yet? Wow that’s a new one 🙄. Did you think of this before you wrote this?
Salary retention? On Samuelsson? You high? |

The upside is all with Philly. If Farabee is all we are getting then it’s more of the same fukage we’ve been dealing with in Buffalo for 13 seasons.
Samuelsson is an easy top 4 shutdown D on an incredible contract. He’s injury prone but so is Farabee. If any draft picks are coming back it should be from Philly to Buffalo if it is a package of Sammy + Krebs for Farabe |

Farabee has gotten better offensively every year he started playing more games. I would say he is quite a bit better than Krebs at this point. Krebs doesn't even really compare |
