still selling the same BS and sadly many buy it.
nobody wanted to get into that type of game....correct they want to win. - hello it's me 2050
They still think it’s the 20th century, pathetic.
I don’t care how much time he spends in Florida or who he does or doesn’t talk to, Clarke’s shadow still looms large over this franchise. Never forget, the guy at the very top, is a huge Bullies fanboy. |

Get coots out of head. He’s cooked. ZERO chance he will do anything other than like last year. At best he stays kinda healthy and by that I mean not out of lineup for extended periods of time and bounces between a 2c and 3c type roll
Here’s what you can reasonable expect at best 65-70 games 15-20 goals. 20-25 assist. 16-19 minutes a night. Mostly d zone and pk. Some pp time. Only 6 more years at almost 8 years - Stayin alive
Is this speculation or fact? Why would I get our team captain out of my head?
I don’t have high hopes for Couturier but I also don’t discount the fact that he sat for nearly 2 years, which would slow down anyone. |

Kevin did it to Chicago, he was the first 1 to do it, then others have slowly started to follow, now currently Winnipeg is having it to happen to them. The Flyers had it last year with cutter.

How sad is it that the Flyers' two top 5 picks in the last decade turned into Patrick and Drysdale. Two guys who get hurt putting on their shoes.

The issues seemed to be that he got an abdominal injury in January. Had surgery on it after the season. Hopefully Torts won't be dumb and play him 20+ minutes a night while regularly healthy scratching his only other playmaking center this season.

I do not think it is a distraction. its an artificial excuse to me.
Now one thing is, seeing where the flyers are at will tk really want to go out and bust his ass every day knowing he is about to cash in? will he lay it on the line?
listening to the danny interview. says Jett is willing to block shots lol....yeah that's what I want my top guys to do on a daily basis. - hello it's me 2050
100% agree. If the Flyers had any aspirations of being relevant this season, then maybe. But this season is another write off. |

it already is a retool, why cant you admit it? - hello it's me 2050
I will admit it when it becomes clear to me that is what is happening. I will not presume Jones and Briere are lying until they actually do lie. Right now they say its a rebuild. I sincerely hope that believe that and also understand that picking in the top 5 is a neccessity if they truly want a team that can contend for multiple years. For example, its way too early for this, but Anton Frondell would be my target if I were Briere, a big and highly skilled center that I think would light it up with Michkov. |

Re read the end of what you just wrote… he will likely play really good in spurts. And complete crap in others.
As I explained before his extension the dude was turning 30 WITH 11 HARD YEARS ON HIS BODY. people tend to just look at the age. He’s had many injuries especially over the last 5 years or so. The dude has played what 12-13 seasons? With big minutes and bruising minutes.
He’s cooked. Yes that’s a fact. I’ll be the first to admit it if turns out wrong |

Wheeler was drafted 5th overall in 2004 and waited four full years rather than play in Arizona. Signed for Boston in 2008.

Kevin? Who? Hayes? lol what 10 years ago? I said nowadays. It’s different now. It’s widely not only accepted but EXPECTED that top prospects do maybe 1 or 2 years college and sign elc and burn elc year one as soon as possible.
Mcgorty? He’s a top prospect? Hmmmm I’d say fringe level at best. 14th overall. So maybe.
The question with him as same was with cutter does the gm fold? I’d say peg already has. Because they didn’t come right out and state they aren’t trading him.
It’s like a toddler pushing buttons. They will push boundaries until it’s made clear they aren’t getting their way. |

Hayes also was a nothing player his first two years, broke his leg in his third year, and then played with Johnny hockey his final season. He was never close to signing with Chicago after his first few collegiate seasons. Really bad example to use. |

Something that Charlie O'Connor brought up yesterday in his article that I posted really sunk in with me. I, like many of you, am very disappointed in this Flyers off season. I had hoped Briere would successfully trade into the top 10 and grab a potential elite talent, and also be able to trade some players to clear some cap and gain more draft capital. None of that has happened. I am happy with adding Luchenko since I see the upside, but clearly Briere was trying to trade into the top 10 to get a better player and failed.
- jd250
Numerous people, myself included. Told you numerous times that trading up into the top 10 was very unlikely. You persisted.
So this brings me to the TK contract. I love TK and wanted the Flyers to extend him, but part of my reasoning was I expected the Flyers to be aggressive this off season and move this rebuild forward. They may have tried to be aggressive, but the bottom line is Briere failed. There is still the deadline coming up and the 2025 draft, but Charlie is right, now everything is riding on the deadline and the 2025 draft. Thus, it does not make sense to extend TK. If Briere had obtained good young assets that can play right now this off season it would have made sense IMO to extend TK, as long as the price was reasonable. But now I think Briere has got to trade TK because the window for this rebuild has just been pushed out another year at least. Briere did mention he has had trade talks with several teams but the window to get something done is closing for the summer. Thus I think we have to be prepared for the distraction next season of the looming TK contract or trading him at the deadline.
So yes, given the non events of this off-season, I think the Flyers need to trade TK, and that sucks. - jd250
There is really no circumstance with this current team or moves that could be made that would make it make sense to re-sign Konecny. How would it make sense to re-sign him if Briere had acquired good young assets? It's the opposite. It would make even less sense.

I think Torts and Michkov will get along great. I am basing this on the type of player I think Michkov is. However, if Michkov doesn't play the right way and is told the same thing multiple times and doesn't listen, he should be benched. Torts cannot treat Michkov differently than any other player on the team. However, I am tired of player benchings so I sincerely hope this year, no player gets benched becasue of their play. - jd250
Tortorella looks for conflict with every player. No, Michkov should not be benched. He should be coached and patience should be exercised. Stop with the archaic player development tactics.

This is an interesting trade proposal: https://phillyhockeynow.c...rt-thomas-st-louis-blues/
What would the Flyers have to give up to get Thomas from St. Louis? - jd250
The Flyers have six picks in the first two rounds of the 2025 NHL Draft, and one would have to imagine that a package for Thomas would eat into most, if not all, of that stockpile.
Carchidi is insane. |
