Is this based on the fact that he's never ever played 82 games in a season?
- Fakepartofme

That's definitely part of a strong case against him doing it this year.

It was a terrible comparison about how much hardware JT has won versus how many trophies an average 13 year old girl has. Cheerleading, school athletics, karate lessons, spelling bee, bowling, whatever.

However, upon Googling it, I noticed that he has olympic medals, so that kinda kills my own dumb joke. Not too many 13 year olds have medaled in the olympics.

But, for NHL hardware, the dude has zero.

JT has been poopty teams (or poopty playoff teams)....not really his fault. IMO.

Dude you haven't written off Joey MF Crabb yet. Drink MOAR blue poop.

JT will get 60 pts next year, at best, for $11M. No Cup still. (frank) him. And (frank) him and Dubas for killing the Leafs' Cap space in lieu of an actual balanced roster for the past 7 years.

Never thought I would hate a Leafs' captain more the Phaneuf. (As soon as Fukneuf got here with Sean Avery's ex-girlfriend on his arm, his slap shot never hit the net and he never hit anyone again.)

Both got overpaid and the C before they deserved it.

- underhill14

Or, to put it another way, JT will get 80 points and be handed the Cup by Bettman. You will crawl on your filthy knees to his statue on Legends Row with tears of gratitude streaming down your face.

the past few years, he's been on a stacked team, no excuse for their playoffs performance.

FFS...they lost to MTL

Well if you extrapolate the 10 minutes he did play to the entire series, he'd have finished with 0 points and several concussions anyway.

Here's the thing with JT.

Everyone talks about him signing here and leaving money on the table, while that's true, there were also 25 or so other teams that DIDN'T offer him a deal. So less $ than the Leafs. TWENTY-FIVE other teams had his value right.

One team offered him more and they can't win in the playoffs either, SJ Sharts.

It would appear the two poopty playoff teams valued JT as a UFA. Coincidence? I think not.

If JT drags the Leafs to a Cup, then I will sell my entire collection of meteorites and fossils to fund a trip up there to lay an offering of Florida's best blue meth at JT's feet.

25 teams were in the market and had cap space and it made sense but they decided not to, is that the theory? Because it sounds kind of flawed.

how many of those 25 (a guess of course) had no particular need for a 2nd line C?

I'm just a Leafs fan who happens to be knowledgeable about a division opponent.

FWIW, I'll trade my Rob Zamuner signed Lightning third jersey for a signed Leafs jersey. Preferably signed by the legendary Phaneuf, or Kessel, or Tucker or Clark.

The last two are my favorite blue and white players for obvious reasons.

Edit : or, the man, the myth, the legend Brian Bradley.

- GalacticStone

That's "Canadian Olympian Rob Zamuner", thank you very much.

I disagree with the bold.
Some teams were not interested in signing him/with or others were too close to the cap to make it work.
that statement is otter BS

your JT hate is up there with AA hate of Nylander.
I get it, I was like that with Aki Berg.

JT should have a great season if he knows what's good for him and his agent.

If he has a career year, it better be leading the Leafs to a Cup.

I'm guessing he's plenty motivated, and he sees the contract Stamkos just signed.

Sadly, motivation won't be enough.

He's slowing.

Stamkos has hardware, so that helped a little. Championships, leadership, clutch, grit, adversity, the whole nine yards, yadda, yadda, pay me.

JT has some old olympic medals.
