Torts also wouldn't have to do mandatory media anymore, which he obviously hates. He could just find a camera when he wants to say something. - Tomahawk
so he had a scheduled interview. he was asked questions during said interview. he answered them.
guess that equates to spouting off. also wasn't him going "off" the last 2 minutes of an hour-long interview about his career?

The point is as a Senior Advisor he can do all the media he wants and he can basically say whatever he wants.
As would Torts if he were to become one of our beloved Senior Advisors, or a Special Advisor, or a VP of XYZ, or unofficial mascot, etc.
All the limelight that he wants AND direct influence over the direction of the hockey club. |

Issues like that are why NHL teams hire and pay development coaches. - MJL
The kid still needs a mentor and a friend to help him acclimate. This is a good thing being done by EJ. Also, his Cup Ring does give him some street cred. I’ve never read anywhere that EJ was anything other than a class act. That’s what we want as fans to mentor Michkov. Introduce him to the guys. Make him a roommate for a little bit. Plus EJ can buy MM beer 😁 |

unless they allow him to be directly involved in all the day to day stuff I do not see him in that role. do not think the flyers go that route. we shall see. as to me he will still want to coach.
anyone can do all the media they want. |

I don't know if this is part of why they re-signed him but there are plenty of other players on the team who could do that. I don't see it having anything to do with what kind of guy he is. It was a bad and unnecessary signing in my opinion.

I do not think signing EJ had anything at all to do in anyway in regard to MM. try again cliff. |

Thankfully it’s only13 games to hit 1,000. Torts won’t have to force feed him 50 games to get it. I think he ends up playing around 40. 20 too many. - ClaudeFather
My guess is 50-60 games which is 50-60 too many |

I suspect I am the only person to listen to Jason M.s podcasts where he calls anyone saying this isn’t a rebuild an idiot.
I am still wait and see on if Danny is able to actually rebuild. But that guy is a fing homer to me at this point and I hate to say that because I appreciate his hockey knowledge and opinions. Unless TK is traded this is not a rebuild. No one is calling for Coots to be traded because we all know he can’t. His take is pure BS and insulting to anyone paying attention. Bill, I like you too but you need to push back a bit. |

He's a mouth piece for the team and he obviously doesn't know what a rebuild is.

i don't listen to that guy anymore. Back in January he went off on a tangent that was so over the top a Flyers homer, that he sounded too much like a Leaf fan. Blind faith.
I couldn't take his aS$ kissing, and haven't listened to him since. To much of a local homer for my tastes.

How in the world was that second ranked? At no time were any of those players projected to be top line material. |

He should not have been resigned. His spot as a 7 should be reserved for risto. The 3rd pairing should be a merit based platoon amongst zamula/ginning/attard/andrae.
It’s a stupid, unnecessary signing - Just5
I almost forgot Risto played for the Flyers. Thanks for reminding me, jerk.

I think at the time it was rated that high for depth, not elite talent. They just had a lot of projected NHLers but no projected stars.

Fun fact: The Flyers have the 7th least amount of wins (705) in the cap era. They are only ahead of the Utah HC, Sabres, CBJ, Oilers, Isles and Sens. VGK and Seattle were not included.
Boston has the most wins with 840. Pens, Caps, Rangers and Preds are the only other teams with 800+ wins. |

I feel like they have never fully adapted to cap era thinking when it comes to roster building.
