I think they can. In 2024 …. No goalie goes over 60-70 games like 8-10 years ago.

A starting goalie is happy with 45-50 starts.

Walls close in a bit the next couple years on the cap space and I think their intentions are to use cheap guys to offset that 6.4M hit. Farabee I think fits your needs and cap hit. So does Vatrano. Zegras I have concerns may be too high.

The Mcleod trade has already been deemed a win by many on here, and the posts suggest he is going to be a great fit....just like Levi was going to be.

I commented on the similarity in assumed hype.

You're justification for that hype was he has NHL tape compared to Levi.

Greenway and Byram had NHL tape prior to joining the Sabres and were assumed great fits as well, as of now they have not been.

If this team was in the same position as they were 2 years ago, Kulich and Rosen (probably Johnson too) would be in the lineup and they'd be given the necessary time to adjust to the NHL. They don't have that luxury now. On the same note, Helenius could be better than Benson last year and he won't make it. Benson was in the right the right place at the right time, didn't force a move, and I'm sure they still hesitated.

And it's not that he's bad, but like 90% of FA signings (Top 9) are way overpriced... Paying for past contributions to other teams rather than future production for current team.
