They mutually agreed to terminate his contract. He has to pass through unconditional waivers and then the contract is considered terminated. No cap penalty when the player agrees to forfeit whatever money is/was still owed to him on his deal.

i think that they mean bring the puck back in any fashion, this is obviously translated from Russian. Wouldn't make sense to differentiate between skating vs passing
