Buium would take 3+ years to develop. I don't think the Flyers want to wait that long.

and how long is 17 year old Jett going to take?

Serious question..when do you expect him to make the team?

All this concern about zeev but it seems a bunch of other GMs passed as well so though we’re all couch gms I think that says something. Similar to wright dropping through and everyone scratching they’re heads the players have absolutely outplayed him early in the career let’s give it a year before we go at Danny b with pitchforks

The big difference is that they passed on a top 12 pick for another guy predicted to go in the top 12...the Flyers passed on a top 12 guy for a guy who was, for the most part, ranked to go in the 20's.

He has stated numerous times that he thinks Luchanko can make the team in 25/26

Missed that...so then 2 years is good, but 3 years is too long?

I also wouldn't doubt that Buium makes it before Luchenko.

When defending the Luchanko pick, he can make it in 25/26. When defending not taking Buium, he will take 3+ years to develop. The same inconsistent BS

Still not sold on Buium though. I don’t doubt however his agent was part of the choice to my draft and I would think you could move back a few slots and still get your player who likely was there at 20-23 but we got an extra asset and a potential skill player for the future. End of the day I’m ok w it. I watch this team I support this team and I want the best for this team. Trump 2024

I’m not sure what you’re basing that on. The Wild think he’s close. But they said it’s all up to him. His progression has been strong. His college freshman season was better than Makar, Q Hughes and Fox.

I don’t expect he’ll be better than any of them. He’s not going to be a shutdown defenseman. Maybe he’ll be something like a better Ghost in his prime. Something like 60-65 points playing on the PP and hopefully better defensively. He’s a heady player with good feet. I see him more as a top 4 for a decade along with Faber. IMO his ceiling is a #2.

He's basing it on he's trying to justify the Flyers not taking him.

Right. It’s clear to me that they went fit not BPA. We’ll see how it shakes out.

i don’t see it before the season.

I suppose maybe a team knockin on the door could offer up a fat deal before the trade deadline. You wouldn’t be getting a high 1st in that case. It would be about collecting a couple low 1sts. Colorado and Edmonton can’t swing that deal since we already possess those picks. Gotta be someone else.

In the off chance of that occurring, would that satisfy you guys? Couple low 1sts and not having to worry about overpayment/free agency?

- Hesh_

For me, I would be satisfied with that. Actually, I would rather let him walk for nothing than sing him to that outrageous deal. I am more pessimistic on this deal the SC. What would we get? Maybe 3-4 good years that would, at best, have us middle of the pack so the rebuild is delayed a half of a decade, until Jones can figure out that we are not the gold standard. So far only 2 players have wanted to come here, and both are fringe player who were ecstatic to get the deals they got.

Found another trade rumor on Facebook. The rumored trade would involve a package from the Sabres that includes power forward Jordan Greenway, a 2025 fourth-round pick, and prospect Noah Ostlund for Joel Farabee. For the Flyers, this trade would represent a shift in focus toward rebuilding and stockpiling future assets.

I personally am in no rush to move Farabee. While I believe the Flyers paid him too soon, I think Farabee, Tippett and Frost are right there in terms of the “next step”. I’d probably jump at this deal if Konency was who the Sabres want and they could have Laughton for free for all I care.

any thoughts on Liver Lips McGrowl?

No doubt it isn’t true but would you do it? This is about entertainment not solving the Da Vinci code.

I say no to that deal. Seems like we get more middling guys for a young player that is good. BUF wins that trade and PHI get more of the same sh!! they already have.

I agree. I’d rather trade him now and full tank while avoiding that contract but if the result is a couple of late 1st? Sure.

Why does the return have to be picks? If I am dealing with a contender or playoff team, I might prefer a youngish player.

Just using as example.

To WPG: Konecny
To PHI: Cole Perfetti, 2026 1st rounder, 2025 3rd rounder

Couldn't something like that be more helpful then just looking for picks. Now I get this might not work or be a good deal, but my thought is 1st round picks aren't the only items to be looking for if your looking to rebuild the roster.

So hockeybuzz doesn’t expect you to punch in at 7am every morning. You’re just willingly up and here every morning like clockwork? I guess that means 9pm bedtime every night?

Right. Every trade rumor is clickbait but they’re no different than anyone of us letting our imagination run wild for what we could get for a Joel Farabee or a Travis Konency.

The longer we wait on a Konency extension, the more likely they don’t come up with a deal…or so I hope. TK has gotta go.

I think WPG keeps Perfetti for now. He didn’t thrive under Bowness but at 22 I think he may benefit with a younger coach in Arniel.

I don’t like that Farabee proposed trade at all. He’s a proven top 6 scorer. Greenway is really good down low and along the wall. But he doesn’t put up enough offense to be a strong 3rd liner. Ostlund has to gain 25 pounds before he can think of surviving in the NHL.

I love how if I make up something about you as an insult, you get all serious and want me to prove it as fact but if you do it, it’s just oh so clever. Especially when it’s the same joke on repeat.

But hey, whatever strengthens your insecurities.
