if TK is dead set on the flyers paying 10 million and doesn't budge, what do the flyers do? pay him or move him?
- hello it's me 2050

I think you and I agree he should be moved at no matter what. IF they really wanted to resign him, I would only be marginally ok if it was some short term deal. But again, he isn't going to want that. This is his chance to get the bag

You would think that he is one of the more desirable forwards for a contending team that needed an upgrade for second or third line scoring.

re-signing him doesn't make sense on any level.

short term - they are not contenders nor will have any shot to win a cup in the next 4 years.

long term - see above and then add your paying for diminishing returns in years 5-8. of which they still probably won't be legit contenders.

it is so phucking simple yet these dopes running the team can't comprehend it.

I hear ya. My family first purchased season tix for the 1970-71 season and by 82-83, we had 6 seats in section K and 4 in section D. When they moved into the new building we cut down to 6 total as the prices had gotten pretty high. A few seasons later, mainly due to cost, we dropped down to 4. Finally, after the 10-11 season, we dropped them altogether as the prices had just gotten way too high. For a couple of seasons I bought 10 game plans, but the seats sucked and the prices were just too high so I threw in the towel in 2014.

I can’t imagine why anyone is buying tix at this point. The prices are obscene as are the prices for concessions and parking. Add to that a mediocre on ice product and little to no hope of seeing a Cup contending team any time soon, really makes me wonder why attendance hasn’t already dropped.

Section P from 1968 to 1979. As a kid I saw Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, Stan Makita, Jean Beliveau, and all I cared about was Andre Lacroix. Dad let them go when I started college.

It was a joke. What would the Flyers do if TK insisted on $10. They’d give him $12. Ba dum tss.

TK's agent must be having the summer of his life. He has a client due a big contract and knows the team he is negotiating with has no balls.

Flyers trading TK would require some kind of initiative from AI GM DB. An AI that isn't prompted won't act. Tortorella isn't prompting DB to trade TK.

The fact that he is the top player on your team should be a clue as to how mediocre your team actually is.

Was just stating what my thoughts were. I know anyone saying 10+ million is joking.

Yes, someone whos regular season stats are similar to Reinharts regular season stats but has less playoff games played, less playoff points and does not have a SC will not get as much as Reinhart does.

If he does, it should not go above 9.5. Should be traded if he wont accept that

The reason why the asking price is leaking out is for that exact reason....

No other team is going to sign TK for 10m a year, no one end of story. There's a reason why no trade has taken place as well. Why would a team trade for a player they know they won't re-sign for their asking price? If that was the case the team would offer less assets for the rental.

In the end DB or any GM in the same position is going to lose no matter what.

1) Overpay
2) Trade and get less value
3) Let TK walk as a UFA

#3 would be the worst case scenario for TK AND the Flyers. So right now the agent is bluffing the Flyers and trying to milk as much as possible. If I am DB then stay strong, go into the season and wait for a reasonable offer from a team as a rental.

If TK's agent let's him go to free agency expecting 10m per they are going to be sorely disappointed and will probably have to sign a short term deal or cave.

his asking price from the flyers may and probably will be diff than what he ask from other teams.

teams will gladly trade for him as a rental. they do every year. no issue there.

At some point the Flyers have to get value from some of these long term deals especially in the beginning. They did not get it with Hayes, JVR. What long term deal are they getting value on now? Couturier? Farabee? Sanheim maybe. If Tippet produced similar last year will that be value? TK will never return value at $10MM per
