I rented a Tesla recently and absolutely loved it. Had nothing to do with EV vs ICE. The drive was so much fun, the tech inside the car was sweet (Spotify started my music immediately when I got in the car, wireless charger for my phone, minimalistic steering wheel).

I didn’t think charging was complicated. Just plugged it in at night or when we went somewhere with a charger available.

Can’t recommend it enough. Give it a try! Was a fun experience.

(I don’t own an EV. Might get one for my next car, but not married to the idea)

hate cars that rely on mega touch screens for everything. touch screens are horrible for driving. give me physical controls every day

You said you spend 500 a month in gas. So an average price of a gallon is lets say 3.60, so that means you are buy about 139 gallons of gas a month. I dont know what kind of car you own now, but on the low side, say it gets 21 miles to a gallon. So you are driving over 2900 miles a month? 36 month lease the mileage will be over 100k.
12k total for a year allowed for a lease is 36k so you are over by 64k. Chevy charges .30 cents for overages on a lease so it looks like you will owe about 19k when the lease is over.

Seems like a lot.

Let’s say I conservatively fill up once per week. $60 x4.5 = $270. $270 x 36 months = $10k in gas over 3 years

New car is $40 more per month, $1440 over 36 months
Home charger is $2k.

$1440 + $2,000 = $3440 in extra expenses over 36 months

$10k gas savings less $3440 extra expenses = saving thousands
