Agree on the brink reply.
Probably wasn't the best way of handling it, but I'm not to beat up about it.

The coots thing. Idc if you are playing hurt that is your choice but you can't use that for a excuse even though I agree it definitely hauled his abilities. The problem with letting players use playing hurt as a excuse, it will allow every player to have a out on playing bad

Heck jamie was hurt all year, I don't hear excuses being thrown for him

Fair points on Coots and JD.

Um, no. Are you familiar with Russian coaching? And Michkov will push back if he disagrees. That's been a knock on him.
- bmeltzer

Nope not familiar. Never been to Russia. I just know how star kids are treated in the US.

The current front office is a lot more photogenic than the last one. It's not like the picked Jonesy for his great ideas or his great track record.

We are currently at the start of season 2 of "The Real Housewives of Philly".

lol...where have you been?

Some, like myself, see Drysdale as nothing more than an injury prone, second pairing dman. When stating this, the defense against this is that "we never saw the real player because he was hurt all last year, and hurt when we traded for him....but just wait..he's healthy now and we will see what we have. "

I am sure Anaheim fans said the same thing at the start of 2023-24 season.

But yes, Drysdale's injury history has been used many, many times as a defense as to why he has so far been underwhelming, to be kind.

If a player doesn’t back check and that lack of effort leads directly to a goal. Good chance you’re getting benched or scratched.

Regarding kolosov-

Could this be a repeat of bad russian goalie decisions by the flyers?

Remember when they chose bryz over Bob? I know that we all do....
Well now they are choosing/chose fedotov over kolosov.

Will this come back to bite them....again?

I honestly don't know enough about either player to say with certainty who is the better player but maybe one of you have followed them better.

Are the flyers repeating history?

- Bob Habib

I heard/read two possible reasons why Kolosov wants out of his contract, 1. He did not like playing in the AHL and was upset he did not play in the playoffs, and 2. with Fedotov extended for two years, Kolosov does not see a path for him to play for the Flyers this year.

Personally, I think being the Phantom's starter, if he can beat out Cal Petersen, would be a nice development step for Kolosov. But apparently he would rather be a starter in the KHL. I kind of feel Kolosov expects to go from the KHL directly to the NHL, and I don't think that is a realistic expectation.

I'd scratched the coach before I scratch MM. The kid needs to be learning from mistakes not sitting on the bench or being scratched. It won't be pretty at times, but I can live with his mistakes knowing in the end we will have a cornerstone player that we so desperately need.

Says you?
Why?..please take the time to explain.

Drysdale, even healthy is a second pairing dman.
And yes his injuries have been used as an excuse for not " showing all he has yet"

Why would he want to be the backup to Peterson in the AHL? That was what he was once he got here. Making less money than the KHL. I think it is answer 2, and he is kinda plssed about the whole situation.

well if true he should be pissed as he should have played. development is the main purpose of the AHL team.

now that they see MM in the house, maybe they will kick start them to trade Laughton.

I thought it was to give out of work alumni a steady income in their golden years? It doesn't seem like anyone really cares what Lappy is doing down there.

My expectation for this year was for Kosolov to be the starter for the Phantoms and Peterson to be the back up. Peterson plays no part in the future of this team so the plan should be for Kosolov's development.

But but but the Flyers are rebuilding. Of course Cal Peterson playing was more important for the Phantoms and the Flyers than getting a young Russian transplant adequate playing time.
