Why? The PR blitz is telling everyone the Flyers are successful and the Gold Standard, don't question them. They are creating a perception and in many people's minds perception is reality.

As long as the fans believe the Flyers are successful, that makes the fans happy, then the fans spend money and buy tickets, that makes Comcast money which makes Comcast happy. Hockey is just the side hustle.

If Comcast put this much effort into making Fletcher look successful he'd still be here. Fletch was every bit as collaborative as the current crop. When Fletcher spoke you couldn't even see Clarke's mouth move and Scott was his biggest cheerleader. He wouldn't take a crap unless 2 other people agreed to it.

The biggest difference is how much they are on camera and on social media. Harder to sell when you have less to sell. Plus they got a guy now who was on TV for 20 years and likes to shake hands and kiss babies. Put him in front of a camera as often as possible.

Some, like myself, see Drysdale as nothing more than an injury prone, second pairing dman. When stating this, the defense against this is that "we never saw the real player because he was hurt all last year,and hurt when we traded for him....but just wait..he's healthy now and we will see what we have. "

I am sure Anaheim fans said the same thing at the start of 2023-24 season.

But yes, Drysdale's injury history has been used many, many times as a defense as to why he has so far been underwhelming, to be kind.

Just cause the dislike of a coach doesn't mean he was wrong in a certain situation, yes I'm sure we both could pick out where we are right in our narrative.

But regardless if you like him or not he is better then our last 2 coaches.

Tortorella completely mishandled Couturier as a player. He was also disrespectful to him, Raise your standards.

I think a lot of “fans” on this board allow their biased to run wild as if they know John Tortorella personally. We just saw what could happen to a coach if they are abusing power and are truly evil in Mike Babcock. If Torts is anything like Babcock, there is no time better than now for the players to speak up. What I’ve seen is mostly former successful players go to bat for Torts. The ones who don’t, are the likes of Ryan Johansson who doesn’t seem to play well with others. If you don’t agree with Torts’ in game management decisions or his antics with the media, that’s fine. However, what happens between him and the players is really between him and the players. I just see a lot of posts by fans on here who really want to breastfeed these players as if they aren’t grown men.

At what point do we start looking at the Flyers and questioning them as to why there seems to be a developing trend of players that DONT want to play for them? It’s a fair question and now that two high profile players in less than a year.
