No. I want to watch entertaining hockey. - fattybeef
I get it, personally i want to compete for Cups. The good news if there was a way to watch entertaining hockey and compete for a cup sooner than later it's the aggressive nature in which KD has been rebuilding this team.
If he's right more so than wrong, i don't see the 6 to 10 year plan that many bottom dweller teams current or past are or were on. |

Same. Bedard and some of the young dmen were about the only thing worth tuning in for last season, but I think with what KFC did this offseason, the team will be watchable.
While they are still likely not a playoff team, should be more fun to watch this season and playing meaningful games later into the season. |

As you all know, I like to compare current state of rebuilds.
this morning, the burning question in my mind, is which Blackhawk, in their offseason training, prepping for what will be a big season, is grinding their faces off, doing a one mile Burpee |

The point was that they are going to be in the mix either way and I'd rather see entertaining hockey then grindy low shot volume hockey.
So like 10 years of playoffs and super entertaining hockey > grindy trappy boring one cup is what I'm saying. |

i was enamored with the NJ rebuild....fast young team, come at you in waves. BUT, they were not built from the BACK to the front, neither are the King or a lot of teams. Its totally EYE Candy to draft super sexy Top 6 and think you can fill in the back end at the right time. Fools errand. Look at the teams that win SCs. Top D that SHUT teams down regardless of who their Top 6 is. Hawks, FL, Blues, Tampa....Model is to shut you down as the series goes on. It sure looks like Kyle from Chicago is taking that approach which is a Long Term sustainable model in my opinion - what say you on this july day? Oh, and who cares about the Olympics after that sad opening ceremony. Yikes |

Hawks have the makings of that already if the drafted players pan out.
Commeso gajan in goal
Valsic Jones
Kk levashov
Delmastro Allen
Kaiser future score
Bedard Boisvert Moore lundwiski green and others down the middle
Nazar slaggert kurashev reichel dach and others on wings
Now not all prospects will pan out but looking at the prospect pool it looking very good going forward. And the time is right you add your odaya and hossa type players. Future looks bright for the Hawks and fans just have stay patient and see where this goes.

I have a positive feeling about Reichel, I think he’ll get 40-50 points next season. |

Agree playing in lesser role with less pressure and better players around him I could see 15 goals 25 assists. The tools talent and skills are there just can he put it all together consistently. I see reichel as Michael frolik type player. Soild player bottom 6 player good on both sides of the puck good pk guy can contribute on the second unit pp. 40 to 50 point player |

If so remind her to tell Brian he was merely fine in the 2013 playoffs and that the Hawks probably would've won that year regardless of his 9 goals, 17 points and 2 game winners. - HawkintheD
Also no need mention his goal in game 6 vs. Boston. |

Well i think it's more important to be able to be that team that is so deep other teams are forced to try to beat you at your own game. |

Oh that one? Some other 3rd line banger would've scored it or Panarin would've ripped one home standing at the top of the left circle. |

The final pieces are in place (the final pieces of what, I'm not sure). Phillips and Crevier signed one year deals. |

1 year $775,000 AAV and it’s a two-way deal for both of them. |

Some (not you) conflate "two-way deal" and waiver eligibility. As a reminder, the former does not affect the cap; it only impacts the Wirtz wallet. A two-way deal does not impact whether a player needs to clear waivers if sent to The Rock. |

I believe Crevier will need to go through waivers but Phillips does not, but it could be the other way around. Regardless, I doubt either guy gets claimed at the start of the season. No doubt there will be better options on the waiver wire, at this point both guys have shown to be AHL caliber d-men.

Tinordi and Megna are ahead of them. |
