No but he allows a regular 4th liner to jump up to fill a 3rd line spot in a pitch. For 2nd and 1st lines, I hope we see Kulich or another skilled Roch player brought up and put on the 2nd line.

My hope is Kulich or another Roch player make the NHL roster out of camp then there's no room for Greenway and he has to go.

Unless Sabres add another player its looking like Krebs and Greenway are fighting for that 3rd line spot, and to honest Lindy might prefer Greenway (who knows). If you ship Greenway out for a 3rd or 4th then our extra players are rookies/AHLers. After looking at a potential line-up, there is no way are they trading Greenway for a pick to start the season and you better get ready to watch him on the ice (I'm sorry to say).

The issue with the Buyout is the Cap Hit in Year 3 of $6.4m up from $4.4m in Year 2 and $1.4m this upcoming season.
To reduce the impact, the Sabres could have waited until the final year of his Contract and spread out the hit over 2 years.

I don't think they really cared about the back half of this buyout, the 2. Something million. We'll need to see how they utilize his space within the next 36 months but I suspect they'll utilize it better without him here than had he been here.

I wouldn't go so far as to call him an albatross, especially with his history of bouncing back every other year. He's just moving away from being a decent fit on this team.
