Philly got robbed because Gauthier is that good, not because Drysdale is bad IMO. He's still only what, 21? It'll be 3-4 years until he reaches his ceiling. I honestly can't see why he's a bottom pairing guy but to each their own my friend. - QuinnFan
What does he do to make him a top 4D? Hes got a nice first pass....?
Inconsistent as they come. Bad on defense. Maybe in the future. Yet to be seen.
10 game sample size over 3-4 months is not what people should look at |

I think the middle ground is if you are down a goal with 5 minutes left in the game you would rather have him on the ice vs joker or samuelsson
if up a goal, the opposite
that's where we are today on this topic with more to come |

Passing and skating. He's going to be one of the best skaters on the ice most nights.
He's not great defensively, which is not uncommon for young defenseman that get rushed to the show.
If his lack of sample is why we shouldn't say he's top4, it should prevent us from calling him bottom pairing as well. Either sit and wait to see, or not. Right now, I'd wager a pretty large amount he'll be in Philly's top4 right out the gate and won't be long before he's getting PP1 time. |

I would imagine so. They have no one else. Doesn't mean hes a real top 4D.
Mcleod is a 4C to you, even though he puts up 3C #'s across the board. One of the best PK guys in the league. De facto #1 in the playoffs last year. |

Seeler, York and Sanheim aren't bad, but it's part of the reason I think Dry could make top pairing for them. They're a weaker unit, but if he's going to be a 1st-2nd pairing tweener for them, it's unlikely he's a sure fire bottom pairing anywhere but a select few teams. Where do you think he'd slot in for us? I'd imagine with Power personally.
McLeod's analytics suggest he's a 3C, but the production doesn't. Basically he does the right things but gets rewarded with points less often than he should. So he'll either take off here in short order OR resort back to a bottom line, PK guy, as he would've been had he stayed in EDM. Let's not forget, he'd be fighting with Henrique for a roster spot this year had he not gotten swapped. |

The decisions Edmonton has made to lessen their defensive ability, including Henrique over McLeod, could very well cost them dearly next season in the playoffs. |

I can see that. I'm not a big Henrique fan, he kind of needs to perform like he did in Anaheim again, rather than how he did for the Oilers last year, for it not to be a bad swap. Was more just pointing at the fact that, on a good team, McLeod isn't a 3C fighting for 2C time or something, he's their lock down 4C. |

I agree with this. Moving McLeod over Henrique who is old makes no sense.

McLeod is a good 3C. When McLeod had decent linemates he produced points. A 39 year old Corey Perry doesn’t count |

16 points in 39 games even strength playing around 14 minutes a night
35 point per 82 even strength playing third line is not terrible numbers
mcleods career high is 27 even strength points in a season

The Sabres potential and talent have lost to muscle every year. They also lose to other talent as well.
All this noise about who is good or not will end the moment the puck drops and this soft roster folds it in. |

McLeod sucks dude. He’s going to be so awful.
He’s going to cost Buffalo at least 60 wins next year. |

I think McLeod was traded with the future in mind. Resigning Henrique made it an option for them to use McLeod to land a young skilled prospect primarily for the future. They will soon need a cheap bottom six (so McLeod probably could not be there long term) and having a cheap young top six player (Savoie) to inject into the line up will significantly help offset the new contracts for Leon and McDavid. |

McDavid and Draisaitl are the ones that move the needle for them, cost will determine the fate of the others.
Is Skinner one year deal, a place holder for the spot where Savoie will eventually take? |

No clue, Savoie probably gets NHL time this year since they don't have the #1 prospect pool
