The premise was it was a long shot, maybe start there, then it was Tip, York and Farabee all took another step forward, maybe a team like the Sens struggled. Getting Tip who would be a 30 plus goal scorer 60 plus points in this scenario and York who would have taken a step and be a 40 point D, 12-15 goals. That is not nothing, in fact that is a good bit. Could be a pick involved, could take a bad contract back. No, get a potential 1C is not likely, but that is where DB has left it, threading that needle, needing the perfect partners and giving prime assets to get what they need.

No team is trading an elite skilled young 1C, similar to the example of Stutzle that you provided, for a 30 goal winger and a 50 point defenseman. Even if you throw in a pick that the Flyers will likely have. You can't seem to grasp that. It's not going to happen. You can reply all you want but that is not going to change.

Imagine we had Stutzle and we traded him for tippet, York, and a first. Quality > Quantity

Obviously mocking the hyperbole from that previous article but it’s silly to take it literally. People do that way too much with everything. That being said, the message is that the Flyers were not aware enough about some psychological concerns of their young high profile prospect. A complete failure of the team to not be aware. And then the Flyers claim they know nothing. The front office is either incompetent or dishonest.

Edit: Yet they are acutely aware of similar concerns with 19 year old Michkov. GM and Prez meet him at the airport, carry his sticks, help make arrangements with his mother and brother to come over, set him up with an English tutor, and are obviously doing their best to support him during his transition. So they are aware of such concerns. Do they make similar preparations for all kids coming here from far away lands? One would hope so (maybe not to the extent they did with Michkov, but at least something. I haven’t heard or read anything to establish that they do such things for Koslov or anyone else.

Something tells me that if Stutzle was available, the Flyers wouldn’t be the team to acquire him anyway. This front office just doesn’t doe anything aggressive except give out 8 year contracts.

Commenting on your edit. Maybe they realized they did not handle Kolosov situation well and made sure they went all out (as they should) for MM.

This franchise in its current state do not get the benefit of the doubt any longer.

You can’t seem to grasp this is to demonstrate this is where DB had left it, it was a conversation on a Hail Mary due to not doing what was needed and bottoming out. Your need to want to promote your opinion prevents you from having that actual discussion.

How many times has bottoming out worked in any of the four big leagues?

Have the sixers won anything yet?
They are the basketball version of the leafs, plenty of talent but faul every season.

Still waiting for Edmonton to win one before players start bailing on them.

What is the definition of insanity?
Have the Flyers ever tried a different approach besides the one what clearly has not and will not ever work.

Give me the Leafs over the Flyers all day any day.

That's just how you're spinning it now. You made comment such as "No but you could get someone who has the potential", "but a strong package has the potential to get a young c with upside being a 1C.", "but a strong package has the potential to get a young c with upside being a 1C " Is there a trade for Stutzle if the Sens don’t step forward, is he elite, could he be". Clearly you aren't just trying to post on the situation but made numerous replies clearly indicating you think it is possible. If what you're saying here was true, you would've just replied back to me with, yea, you're right. No chance of it happening but you didn't. You kept arguing with reasons as to why it could happen. I think based on your reply here, I clearly and effectively had that conversation. It's not personal for me but you can make it that if you choose to.

You continue to make absurd comments. The reality is that bottoming out has worked far more often than not bottoming out has.

What teams have won championships after bottoming out? And we are talking deliberately tanking.

The goal isn't playoff appearances.

So you want 50% of the salary cap to go to 4 players and not make it past the first round every season?
