Drai and McD aren't going anywhere. At least 1 of the 2 offer sheets will be matched. Oilers will be back in the Finals next season. You guys can cut the drama.

There's probably six Stanley Cup favorites, the Oilers being one of them, I would put their chances of returning to the finals at low, very low, as I believe they were lucky to be there in the first place.

Yup, it only made it to 7 games because Florida pissed off Edmonton by flying the families to Edmonton for that first elimination game. Bad juju on the Panthers part.

It will be more difficult for sure for EDM. If VAN's top guys perform post season and the team stays healthy, they might have a chance.

It is by no means a guarantee for the Oilers to return to the finals, it's a long 82 game season and if they get a tough first round match-up, like Dallas did with Vegas, the Oilers might not get out of the first round. Same goes for any of the good teams.

Again, that's why VAN's top guys need to step up post season. It's not easy for any team. Hopefully EP performs when the stakes are high.

Certainly part of their issues, but far from the only one. One goal in 13 games for guy as talented as him isn't good enough. If you look around at other teams, it happened to a lot of the teams that lost out, on top of that, Demko was missing against the Oilers and Boeser was injured for game 7. I don't think the Oilers get by Vancouver if they were healthy. But I guess we'll never know.

Time for him to perform to his pay scale.

His trade value will certainly decline if he doesn't.

I know he's no Draisaitl or McDavid, those two are relentless whenever they are on the ice. I'd like to see that from EP.

He's still young and will most likely add some more bulk & muscle. He has demonstrated that he is not afraid to throw a hit. That penalized hit in the playoffs was his highlight. A fast, bigger & talented winger to consistently play with will also benefit him.

I'm making an oven roasted salsa right now, 3rd batch this summer. So easy and tasty.

Don't forget coaching! In my opinion the Canucks have the best coach in the biz.

Adding a real true leader that is a "meat and potatoes" type grinder and the Canucks are pretty much there. (like a Messier, O'Reily, Toews, etc...I don't know him well enough but is JT Miller that type of guy? seems so).

Can't beat a nice Salsa or Pico de Gallo! Serrano peppers are key if you can find them.

People get ridiculous with their salary vs performance expectations, it's an inexact science. Players get paid from past performance and future projections, by your way of thinking it's ok for JT Miller and Draisaitl to underperform because they're underpaid.

Over the life of Petey's contract it will turn out well in my opinion. The past two seasons he's out-performed his contract, 191 points in 162 games, there has to be give and take on both ends of it.

Auston Matthews has 192 point is 155 games the past two seasons and the league can't suck his cack hard enough...different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I hope for EP's sake he plays to his potential again. We all know the market will be all over him otherwise. This also holds true for his supporting cast.

I like Allvin's comment that he "wasn't satisfied" with his team. The bar should be higher this season.

I'd love for them to go out and get Alex Tuch out of Buffalo and put him on Petey's wing. I don't care if they trade the next two first rounders, the skinny facker they drafted from Sweden and throw in Pod and or Hoglander....get it done!! The time to compete is now.

Loving the offer sheets Hope Edmonton doesn't match them. I read in an article that the Oilers were the oldest team in the NHL last season, which was surprising. Losing those two younger players would be funny, but either way they lose them or they muck up their cap situation even more
- NewYorkNuck

They can't match the OS, they need the money to sign Lucic, who is apparently planning a comeback from his assault charge

Tuch is such a unique player, I've wished he could be a Canuck ever since that first year in Vegas, the guy is a beast

Absolutely, you have to think this years picks are on the table again! Rutherford & Allvin are 100% all in. So you never know, I'm sure there's conversations even this early.

The Canucks are better than they were last year, at least on paper, in my opinion. Regardless of Reuby's constant whining. Given a healthy Canucks roster, the Oilers wouldn't get by the Canucks in the playoffs.
- Pacificgem

Healthy Demko & better PO special teams & no telling how far the Canucks could go.

100% RT will also be supposedly tweaking his systems as well. It's really hard to tell with all the new faces.

More speed & havoc on the forecheck be nice. PA starting to fill in UFA’s for better top 9 line dynamics & on D. 4th line competition improved. Creating more competition & buying time for prospects to develop properly.
