He's an advisor. He's not running the show.

I am aware but my assertion is the same. |

Let's be honest MJL, you come on this forum day after day and offer absolutely nothing to the conversation. I'm not right all the time, no one is, but I would rather be wrong sometimes instead of a coward that never has a positive take on anything Flyers. Fletcher came on and the Flyers in 2019 were one of the best teams in the league and looked to be building something, thus I was supportive. Once things went bad in 2022 I stopped supporting Fletcher since his decisions to extend Risto, not replace AV with a real NHL coach and trade for DeAngelo were not moves I could get behind. But early on it was not all bad. Who knew Niskanen would retire and Ellis would only play 5 games. Oh that's right, you knew. - jd250

And let's be honest... he still knows more about the cap and CBA than just about anybody on here.
He's actually one of the few people on here that actually contributes to the collective knowledge pool.

But the question is, will he have influence like Clarkie and Homer do?

We did him a favor by loaning him back for one year,” said Briere, whose organization is filled with high-end goalie prospects who have yet to reach the NHL. “Now it’s time for him to develop here and hopefully he makes his way to the Flyers eventually.”
Doesn’t Understand the ‘Fuss’
“If he wants to play hockey, he has to come back over,” Briere said. “He’s under contract with us, so that’s why I don’t understand all the fuss. … I guess a Russian team could say they’re not going to honor the contract. But he’s under contract with the Flyers and that’s where he’s going to have to play if he wants to play hockey.”

Appreciate the kind words. You and I have had plenty of battles over the years. Most of it due to my ignorance on some things. I've learned a lot about hockey from a number of people on this website. However I don't think there is anyone on here who has taught me more about the sport of hockey, than you have. Appreciate it. |

Keith Jones: "If you don't wanna be a Flyer, you're not going to be a Flyer."
Tortorella is also on record saying that if you don't want to play for the Flyers "Then we don't want you".
Someone should ask Briere if forcing someone to play for the Flyers goes against his bosses philosophy.

This is my own take, and I respect your right to hold your own opinion. But I think in a discussion forum, the overwhelming priority should be objectiveness. Opinions are fine, but opinions should be backed up as much as possible by data, not sentiment.
And the same goes about takes about other people. Being amicable should be a bonus, not the main goal. Sentiment should not cloud perspectives.

If there is one of those here then it's more like a cesspool rather than anything anyone should be swimming in. |
