would either team do:
Huberdau for ex selk and RR

- hello it's me 2050

Are both teams retaining 50% salary on everybody and is everyone waiving their NMCs? None of these guys are horrible at 50% discount, at least for now. I do think Huberdeau has more good years left in him than Coots.

Moved my 401K out of stocks this weekend. Lost enough on Friday to go from highly aggressive to very passive. I may not make much of anything but I won’t get soaked like Covid or 2008.

Stock market is way up under Biden, even with today's dip. But I'm not surprised that a MAGAt who falls for every last piece of Russian propaganda would put on a performative freak out.

It is utter and completely nonsense. The reason is rudimentary awareness of where she comes from. Rural Algeria is deeply conservative; a very Muslim place. The chance she was born with a penis and would be allowed to play with girls, go to girl restrooms, grow up as a girl etc is so hilarious that it beggars belief. Her entire family would have been lynched.

She could however have one of those genetical syndromes that are grouped together as "intersex." This could mean naturally higher testosterone, chromosomal abnormalities, etc. etc.

- PT21

MAGAts have so little awareness of the world outside of the US they couldn't even find Algeria on a map, let alone have a clue how ridiculous their claims about the boxer being trans are.

In a roundabout way it is hockey related. If the country goes to hell in a hand basket and nobody can afford to go to a hockey game and tv ratings drop as consumers cut the cord the NHL product will suffer.
- bird_dog_pa

You mean like happened in the last year of the Trump presidency when the US economy tanked and Unemployment spiked to 14.8%. Why is that MAGAts can't even remember what happened 4 years ago?

That is a misleading graph. It is important to be accurate.

Stocks boomed after Trump almost halved the corporate tax rate, then plunged during Covid, then super-boomed again after the situation stabilized. The average rate of growth in stock market for the Presidency of Trump exceeds that under Biden.

It's absolutely disgusting what those leftist nutcases are doing to women's sports.
- Letterkenney

First, I’m center/right on the political spectrum. However, these two are NOT transgender athletes, in that, they were born as men, and took steps to compete as women. They were born with genetic anomalies of both chromosomes. They didn’t ask, nor try to cheat the system. I actually feel sorry for them in that regard. However, having XY chromosomes, makes them ineligible to compete against women. It’s unfair. The woke Olympic committee dropped the ball in allowing this to happen, and crushes the hopes and dreams of the women athletes who have trained so hard, only to be cast aside in the interest of wokeness. That Last Supper spectacle is proof positive of their agenda.
A very sad stain on an otherwise chance to bring nations together, through sports. The athletes should be the focus, not the politics and agendas.

Nailed it!

Thanks for being accurate, even if we don’t always agree. It leads to bridge building and common ground, instead of mistrust, and discourse.

That’s you bringing politics up I never mentioned it. With the jobs report being anemic you don’t need to be a Wall Street insider to know the markets would react negatively.
Usually it’s better to roll with the punches but the market was over valued and was a matter of time before it corrects.
Is that what happened today? I don’t know but there are a lot of unknowns going on where we could see the markets unstable for a bit.

Are you referring to that little event in 2020 called Covid that led to domestic and global market disruptions? From what I recall, the economy was churning along well prior. Clearly you don’t recall what happened four years ago . Either that or your being purely obtuse .

So your saying giving players 8 year contracts that pay them into their mid to late 30s tend to not be worth it?

Coots might bounce back a little better this year with it being another year away from back surgery but he had a decade of hard miles on him before that contract was given.
With the abuse he puts his body through, it was always unlikely he was going to be the same player as he got older.

And the Flyers already have 3 of them if you count Tippett, although he is borderline

Lucky for"us", your use of the word shows your own intellectual disability. You're incapable of making a reasonable assertion. The only assertion you can make is one you've been trained and brainwashed to make. You're incapable of individual thought.

At least with him if he blossoms into a 30 goal scorer for the next few years his cap hit will be reasonable at 6.2. It expires at age 32. So yes it is borderline but erring on the good side.

Other than that I got nuthin.

Question from abroad? Are all Republicans MAGA’s? Are all radical leftists the only backers for Kamala?
- landros 2

It is hard to tell what a Republican actually means nowadays. In the last 50 years, R's were defined by some core principles.

1. Less government
2. Lower taxes.
3. Free markets
4. Social conservatism
5. Using foreign policy to counter non-American values abroad.

1 and 2 are still intact. Re: 3: With tariffs and many other things (remember that Carrier plant?), it is now far from free markets. Re 4: Trump is personally not exactly a flag-bearer for socially conservatism. Re: 5, With the closer personal ties to guys like Orban, Duterte, Putin, etc., the strongman model in the world is now favored. Then there is the tendency towards isolationism.

So, in 2-3 of the 5 core issues, the party is essentially unrecognizable from what that party of Eisenhower-Goldwater-Reagan was. Then there is the utter blind faith, the suspension of disbelief, the lack of any details about how things would work, just a sort of "daddy will handle things kinda" faith.

It is now largely a cult. Not all who favor the cult are cultists, but the core support comes from irrationality and personality rather than reason and policy.
