Bbq done. few doobies and brewskis deep and I'm annoyed that I'm annoyed that Jamrock Camfing RobertsonCop IdDoHer Lillybutts Murray and the 4core are all back with a new GM in his second off-season.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

But they have a new coach!! That matters right? RIGHT?!?

I’m just for 34 - he must be pissed eh. Another year of the same with no movement. No way he’s happy with this going into another season with much the same.

The defence is definitely improved and will help for sure - but in my opinion the tending and offence was the issue post season again…The forward group is is not as good (not that Bert set the rink on fire but minus him their top 6 isn’t as good) and the goalie situation is a side step based on the way Sammy played last year. A step down based on Sammy of the season prior.

The hope I guess is that a Knies or someone takes a big step up in their game and fills that top 6 need and that Will defies all odds and miraculously turns into an actual NHL starter….and doesn’t sneeze while bent over and get hurt again

When 34 cares more about a cup, see Crosby MacKinnon and to a point even non cup winner McDavid, and less about his social status, money, trendy looks etc then he might actually give a (frank) and be upset at not winning, to he himself does something about it.

The tending is only a scapegoat for a lack of offense. The defense is barely improved and they're one injury to Tanev away from being a pile of Richards.

Ah man I don’t know how you measure that. Looks to me like 34 cares a ton when he plays. Hustles both sides of puck, tried to slug it out clearly but close to 100, single handed oh won Game 2, etc., Its up to you to watch and make you’re assessment but I personally hate those types of comment: ‘player X doesn’t care if they win, they didn’t try to win, and so on. Just a weird thing to say about a Pro hockey player. They want to win more than anything man.

…also odd to connect about how he dresses and that and make it like he doesn’t care because of his clothes

Just don't feel he does all the little things needed in the playoffs. Like how stamkos lead his team and went at matthews and forced him to throw a punch because stamkos was basically slapping him around. He doesn't seem like the type, again see Mackinnon and Crosby whose first and only priority is winning a cup, taking less money on more term than matthews after winning cups unlike matthews so their teams have more cap space. Glad you disagree but he hasn't been clutch in many key moments in my opinion and I wish he could be better. I feel you completely misunderstood the point I was making and that's fine, I don't need you to cosign on my views. I do respect yours though! I never said he doesn't give a (frank) I just don't feel his commitment to winning is on the same level as guys that have won cups, that his own personal passions and wants in life, seem a priority above the teams success. How much you're willing to do to win matters more than how much you want to win. How unfair is it to judge a guy that's the highest paid player in the league, having won only 1 playoff round or 2, to the highest of standards?

Who knows if reports are true and that - but at time of 34 signing EF reported he definitely left money on table from Leafs and most certainly would’ve gotten more in market. I think he’s done his part in playoffs. As a centre in a tight game (playoff hockey) he is great on the defensive side of the puck and especially in dozen. Offensively I agree in a way. Maybe pop a goal more per series but he’s also a shooter. He’s not a carrier/shooter. He finds ice and needs the puck - problem is that his wingers shy away in physical games and they rush plays as a result and don’t get him the puck. But agreed again, should pop on 1 maybe 2 more per series. He also plus a role in opening up the ice for his wingers (Bert made mention of that last playoffs). There is more ice out there cause he draws 2.

Nobody needs to co-sign on anyone’s opinions man. That’s the beauty of hockey. But I didn’t misunderstand at all - I don’t thing commit to winning or want to win is quantifiable no matter how you phrase it you know. Every teammate and coaches (even the Babs) remarks on his commitment to getting better each year and each offseason by adding stuff to his game. If we he’s committed. You don’t. Impossible for me or you to factually prove anything right.

You know Crosby/Nate/34 enough to understand their personal priorities in life? Crazy man. How much are they willing to do? Like fight? I don’t know for sure but o can’t recall Sid or Nate fighting in playoffs. They hit more for sure - but 34 doesn’t shy away at all and plays a physical game based on his work on puck retrieval and using body to go to spaces. Not sure you want him to fight…also very few fights in playoffs anyways for that matter.

No need to UG the situation. Good points. I didn't read. Respect your opinion. I think I'm right and to me that's all that matters. My case was better stated. Have a good evening mate. 🍻

(So you did read my other post huh?)
Why are you so mad man. So much anger eh.

You type: you’re dismissed and call me emotional?
You type: emotional and a wreck bs emotional wreck and call me incoherent?
You type: jargon about my posts about hockey?

Since you just saw my post in the oilers thread responding to your post being sarcastic and assy towards me (about something I posted a long while ago) - that explains why you are so mad and angry…you don’t like chirping folks and getting it back.

I’m dismissed? Dudes like you who post things like that and think it’s some monumental insult and ‘movie quality’ speech are the best eh!

…you’ve been served!!! Ohhhhhh snap!

I get what you’re saying but with an improved defensive D, decent young goalie with a steady back up and a former starter as the 3rd, and a chance for some of the youth to take off up front (Knies will have a hell of a year, just wait and see) the leafs will do just fine.

It’s season long health that’s the big question mark(s) for them.

Ya man thats what I was trying to say ha (not very well eh) - the hope is thy dcore can insulate tender better and Woll stays healthy but mostly that Stolarz comes out of nowhere.

I like Knies man! Strong kid and fearless. I’d start him with 34 and Domi see how it goes

I love that line idea due to Knies being a net crasher… it would turn out sweet… except that makes line 2 Willie JT and Mitch so I’m not sure if that’s physical enough at all.

And I say (frank) it, let’s gamble on Woll’s health not his talent, this will work out

Big body does well cleaning up in front of net for sure…that other line is also terrible 5v5 defensively as well as not physical to your point

Well if Nylander or Marner aren’t on the top line they’ll be on the second, the leafs won’t have $11 mill third liners lol

Willie on the top line and Knies on the second could be sweet imo

If you are unsatisfied with the current roster, then put down the beer/whiskey and take a deep drink from the pitcher of Blue Koolaid.

It tastes like.....blueberry and disappointment, but has notes of hope and jubilation.'
